That's the word Dan Rather left us with this evening - his final broadcast. So long Dan.

2. I'm sorry to see him go
He had guts, which is more than can be said for most of the whores out there.
So long, Dan, and Courage.

5. It's ironic he spoke of this 4 years ago
in a Greg Palast column from 2000 I think; Rather gave a speech in Eurpoe where he mentions how reporters that go up against the BFEE find themselves out of work.

Now here we are.........

11. Dan said his best work is yet to come
not as an anchor, but as a journalist. I have a feeling the reason the right is bashing him so much this week, is that they know Rather no longer has to answer to his corporate bosses. I think they are scared to death.
We got your back, Dan. Courage.

12. It was very moving
It was a noble statement, and intensely heartfelt.

He reached out to a lot of us who are struggling, in one way or another, with the profound challenges of our day.

It meant a lot, and I'll keep it in mind in the days and years to come.

 Thanks Dan.

13. well 2 of the 3 anthrax recipients of 2001have been put out to pasture
Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle was brought down largely through the efforts of crack journalist Jeff Gannon, or whatever he is calling himself these days. Dan Rather goes by the wayside after documenting Bush's Vietnam AWOL status, the substance of which has never been disproved, only questioned via the RW "font defense." The only one left is former Chairman of the Judiciary Committee who favored stricter protections for whistleblowers after 9/11. We all saw how well they fared (Sibel Edmonds, anyone?), now it may be Leahy's turn unless he watches his step.

Courage. I hear ya, Dan.

15. Funny how the TANG commander's widow said that every word in those memos
was factually correct, yet none of the corporate media dared cover that topic. The only exception was Dan Rather, who let her speak.

19. Dan Rather: The last of the greatest of old school reporters
It was always about the story and getting at the truth with that guy.

 Keep up the journalistic integrity, Dan, and show those other jerkoffs what it really means to be a reporter!
