Is Bush "The Man that Killed America?"
He's always failed on a relatively small scale until now.

But his connections got him into a place where he'll go down in history as the person that put the final nail in the coffin of the American myth. Most people who've read further than our high school history books know this country was founded on slavery and genocide; still however, we've always had a conceit about our contemporary freedom and democracy, and the rest of the world was willing to tolerate it.

Not anymore. Like a prom queen beset by the the rumors of adolescent boys with something to prove, we've lost our reputation, and this time I think it is permanent and irreconcilable. I think the damage W. has done just isn't mitigatible. It's weird adjusting to the image that the rest of the civilized world now holds of us, especially considering the show of empathy most countries afforded us after 9/11. Quite an amazing feat Junior achieved, bringing the whole world from sympathy with us to utter disgust and dismay in less than two years flat.

That's why I say George W. Bush is The Man that Killed America. I hope his Daddy is proud.

1. I have little doubt that, in 100 years, the Bush family will have to be...
...buried in unmarked graves to keep people from defecating on them.

11. Should this Republic last 1,000 years or more, hopefully no one
will ever have damaged it, its Constitution, its fiscal integrity, its institutions, its environment, its society, its capital markets, its currency, its people nearly as has already inflicted in four short years.

2. He and his immediate cohorts have imposed a pathos
on this country from which we'll never recover. The media have seriously screwed their people over in this regard. There is a very overt cruelty and meanness that wasn't, before now, "justifiable". When I look at pictures of Clinton, as our president, shaking hands with the people, and everyone around him smiling- I remember how this country was once "alive". I feel acute chest pain, loss, and grief when I look at these pictures. I never knew how happy I actually was when he was in office. The major offenses are that these horrors were allowed to happen, and in SUCH A SHORT TIME!!!!

9. He's too stupid for that...
Planning a new world order takes brains.

He's more like the bratty kid who wants to eat all of his candy RIGHT NOW, regardless of the consequences.

5. No. He's the latest (or last?) in a line of filthy knife-wielding muggers:
Edited on Sun Mar-06-05 01:47 PM by HypnoToad
* Nixon (opened up China relations and started this offshoring nightmare - textiles/fabrics being the first industry to go; IT being the latest)

* Reagan (see link in sig line for the full lsit of atrocities but he started w. manipulating Iran hostage situation to help get into presidency, along with making use of Carter's honesty re: oil)

* Bush 1. "no new taxes". He also attacked Iraq because, purportedly, Iraq shameless invaded Kuwait. (what some believe is that Kuwait was SLANT DRILLING into Iraq. And that's supposed to be a crime.)

* Clinton. He balanced the budget but gave us NAFTA, DOMA, DMCA, welfare 'reform' that excluded corporate subsidies, firing Jocelyn Elders, 1996 Telecom act, Monica, AND revoking the 55MPH speed limit which only increased our need for oil.

* Bush 2 (need I say one syllable about him?)

Don't argue with me on Clinton. It's all the truth. Those acts he's passed has hurt consumers like you and me, you may not just know it yet.

Edit: neatness, spelling

6. But this is the beginning of the end
of real representative government in America. Once they have the courts, certain rights will vanish and progressive government will officially be dead (by law) for at least a generation.

7. is congress not responsible for those acts?
who submitted the original bills and who sponsored them? Since repukes had control of congress during the "Gingrich revolution", can you accurately pin all this solely on Clinton and the dems?

(He's not a hero in my book, so I'm asking in earnest, the most accurate thing I've ever heard said about Clinton is that his victories were personal gains, not longlasting political gains for the democratic party.

18. If you're going to attack Clinton, get your facts straight
The 55-MPH limit went away in 1987 under Reagan.

The 65-MPH cap went away under Clinton in 1995, during the first year of the Republican Congress.

8. If he is, and I would give him
the title of "The Man that finally killed America", then I might be actually please by *. It has been my opinion for decades that America needs to be killed. The policies brought to the world by this government are atrocious. Now, the question becomes what government steps up to become the dominating force in the world? My choice would be European Union with the help of the United Nations.

If you saw Wife-Swap last week, you'll understand this.

Dan is the man.

edit: I guess you're not Dan, you said "for decades" and Dan is only seventeen. sigh.

16. I will say this, though - America isn't dead yet.
It's too easy to be a pessimist. Not when there's a chance that optimism can still save the day.

Oh, anyone know how to cultivate a garden? You'll be valuable in 7 years.

17. it'll never be what it once was, or what we thought it was.
We are like the child who once thought the sun didn't shine until she got up suddenly realizing she has morphed overnight into an ordinary, garden-variety adult.

21. He killed America, no doubt!
From here, there's nothing but down hills that I can see.
I'm trying to pack up my house, decide what to throw away etc. I'm selling my house. Before the end of this year, I plan on being out of here.
It's braking my heart, but I just can't see myself living in the Fourth Reich.
