Gas prices hitting the roof, my utilities are up, everything costs more
and I'm getting less hours, less pay.

I know this is not just me.

14. thank-you so much :)
It's very scary, and I know there are a lot of people that are much worse off than me, people who have been out of work for a LONG time, etc. It's so depressing :(

7. That giant sucking sound you hear
is the sound of the middle and working classes being flushed down the economic toilet courtesy of your elected representatives in Washington D.C.

Enjoy the ride down.

8. You must be mistaken. The core rate of inflation (excluding
food, energy, and housing) is very low and quite manageable!

12. Don't you just love that?
So, if I cut back on luxuries like food, shelter, heat and transportation... why, shucks, I'll be just fine!

13. I was wondering - is there anything else they can exclude?
Edited on Thu Mar-03-05 01:02 PM by hatrack
Since we must leave no stone unturned in making the "core" inflation look as low as possible, what else can we leave out? Medical care? College tuition? Food?

Oh, wait, they already left out food (as per your post)!

Maybe clothing, consumer durables and consumer non-durables would make the numbers even prettier if excluded! Soon we'll have a "core" inflation rate based on the price of postage stamps and lawyers' fees.

:puke:

17. Yeah, that reminds
no health insurance. Had a health scare the other day and all I could think about was how much it would cost.

20. That Sucks
When you have a health scare, and you're more concerned about what it's going to COST...rather than the effect it will have on your health...
Jesus christ, what a fucking society we've become, haven't we??

It's "uniquely American" isn't it?

P.S. I think we need to use that shit as our rallying cry..."uniquely American."
