Compare Bush to Stalin!
Edited on Wed Mar-02-05 09:39 PM by Democrat Dragon
If you compare Bush to Stalin, it will make Rethugs even madder since Stalin was a "Commie pig"!

Here's two websites that has comparisons:
http://www.acepilots.com/mt/archives/000479.html
http://www.thepubliccause.net/Articles/BushHitlerStalinGOP.html
Joseph Stalin was successful in seizing and retaining power primarily because he was able to stack the Politburo with politicians as extreme as himself and dictate their actions and votes on every issue. Party dissenters were harassed mercilessly by the Politburo members who remained blindly loyal to him. With a block of supporters who did not think for themselves, Stalin was able to completely reverse Russia's policy on a number of key issues across the board. In 1936, for example, he reversed the liberal communist doctrines pertaining to family, divorce, and abortion. He made divorce difficult, made abortion illegal, and stressed family values. (Do we see a dictator pattern here?)

1. Stalin and Hitler were cut from the same cloth however, Hitler.
was sliced from the thinner threads. They actually got along very well at first because they thought the same. They agreed to slice up the parts of Europe that they wanted. The thing was that Stalin was smarter than Hitler and so much more ruthless and he used him to get the better part of the deal. He outsmarted Der Fuehrer, which made little Adolf a bit mad. The rest is history

2. Hitler said of Stalin, "That man thinks in terms of centuries."
So that leaves Bush out.

"Legacy? In a hunnert years, we'll all be dead."

3. You've got that right Octafish.
We do have a dictator somewhere in that mosh pit we call a government right now. It isn't the demented drunk though. He's just the avatar. If we really can finger who is the Stalin, who is the Hitler that is moving the Chess pieces, that would be wonderful. However, we'd better keep it to ourselves for awhile or we may find ourselves committing suicide.

4. Both are/were "fun" guys
Stalin could be a very congenial, warm, and sociable guy. He seemed to love his family. He very much valued loyalty. How often have we heard what a great guy Bush is? Just the buddy to have a beer (non-alcoholic for GB) and bs with a couple of hours.

Stalin would order your execution if he decided you were a threat, no matter how loyal or fun you were in the past. Bush enjoys a good execution and although he can't get away with ordering an unprovoked execution, he can order up a war just because he feels like it.

It can be said both leaders were irrational, divorced from reality, and failed utterly at taking into account the consequences of their actions. Each displayed amazing examples of incompetence and both succeeded in getting away with them. They each had an adoring public, although to be fair, I think Stalin instilled far more fear than Bush.

5. The day isn't over yet.
I'm far more afraid of Bush because he has nukes. Stalin actually had the discipline to use them only for threats. I don't trust that the other guy has that judgement, unless his puppetmaster does. So far the puppetmaster hasn't proved that to me.

6. Both appeared only in highly scripted and controlled events.
Both speed away in armored escorted dark cars.
