http://news.messages.yahoo.com/bbs?action=l&board=37138445&tid=latimestsanidentitycrisisunfoldsinanotsoelitepresscorps&sid=37138445&mid=1284

best jokes so far:

Gannon CAME THROUGH THE BACK DOOR
Gannon debreifed Bush, literally
Gannon probed Bush for the poop
WHO GREASED THE WAY FOR GANNON TO SLIP IN?
BUSH INVITED GANNON TO COME
GANNON ATE AT THE PRESIDENTS BALL
CONS WERE AGAINST GAYS IN THE WHITEHOUSE BEFORE THEY WERE FOR THEM.

DID BUSH EVER HAVE A 1 ON 1 WITH GANNON Or was he always with the group?
GANNON IS BUSH'S DEEP THROAT - in more ways than one
IS THAT EGG ON BUSH'S FACE??????
Clinton: I didn't inhale Bush: I didn't swallow
GANNON STANDS BEHIND HIS PRESIDENT Sometimes Gannon kneels for his president as well.
PAY NO ATTENTION TO THAT MAN behind the president
Queer Eye for the White House Guy
CLINTON: BLUE DRESS - BUSH: BLEW PRESS

9. Have you read the article?
It's CRAP. The writer is giving it an "oh, that wacky press corps!" spin to try to downplay JimmyJeffs significance:

"The White House press corps has since attracted an array of unusual personalities."

"...Nover — whose coif of white hair somewhat resembled George Washington's wig — got past a security cordon during a Reagan trip to China after a reporter showed guards a U.S. dollar bill as evidence of how important she was."

"Lester Kinsolving...wore a clerical collar to White House briefings in the Reagan years."

She's even dragging Clinton into it:

"President Clinton, to lighten up the proceedings, often called on Sarah McLendon, who worked for a string of small newspapers in Texas and called herself a citizen journalist unafraid to blast government bureaucrats."

And she's reaching back to 1970 for excuses:

"...he created day passes in response to a federal court decision in the late 1970s requiring the White House to admit all journalists unless the Secret Service deemed them threats to the president or his immediate family. "

12. *Sigh* I guess you're right, but...
I'd kill to see a report on this prominently displayed that actually addressed the SERIOUS SECURITY BREACH aspect of this story.

13. he compares gannon to SARAH MCLENDON?!?!?
Edited on Sat Feb-26-05 01:04 AM by Adenoid_Hynkel
she was a tremendous reporter, starting as a war correspondent in the 40s. she covered and grilled over 10 presidents during her long, highly honored career.

The woman is a legend to indie journalism, ranking right up there with george seldes. (she even cameos in the film manufacturing consent).

god rest her soul

this "reporter" for yahoo wants to equate jeff the soft-ball throwing man-whore with one of the gutsiest correspondents in american political history?!?
