Move to Canada?
Edited on Tue Feb-15-05 09:48 PM by detroitguy
Seriously... when will you know when, if ever, it'll be time to leave the country? Like a lot of people, I thought about this quite a bit after the election, them decided to see how things would go.

But with the new Bush budget in place and all the saber rattling directed toward Iran and Syria, I am getting very worried about the future of America. I'd be very reluctant to do it. But I have to wonder if, at some point I'd owe it to my child to make a new life elsewhere for him.

Where would you draw the line? When do you think it'd be time to go (if ever)?

4. One has to play it day by day
And hope they don't miss their call and get out before the doors seal. But you're right, it's a guessing game.

7. If I could get my grandsons out of here now, I would.
I feel we owe it to our kids and grandkids to get them out of harm's way before it really is too late. I just want to say, though, that I hate Bush and his evil minions for bringing me to the point that I feel I must leave my own country to escape what he is bringing upon us. The line you ask about drawing is fast approaching.

8. If my son was near draft age...
...I'd be gone already. That is for sure. And like you, I hate that the Bush camp has pushed things so far. This conversation would have been unthinkable to me before the Bush era.

9. I'd be cautious
Canada has the 2nd largest oil reserves in the world. Then again the U.S is busy with the ME.

10. prerequisites
Check these out! It isn't going to be easy to just move there. There may be better places and the way it is going, Canada may not be the safest place for young Americans. Social security won't help for income since it may be gone in 2 years. Two years or less should be the breaking time, because if this keeps going, by then we will be in quicksand up to armpits.
