The Republican Party has become the party of mendacity, deception
divisiveness, discrimination, intimidation and violence. It appears that no decent person can survive in the jungle that is now the Republican Party. I believe Colin Powell left because his heart was clearly not in it and he realized he had sold his soul for riches.Christie Whitman likewise found herself isolated by the predatory environmental policies of this administration.

Like a monster this administration has coopted decent men and women with blandishments of money and status or with threats.Unless the Democratic Party recognize that they are fighting Evil and take risks by stating the truth in an unvarnished manner, they are not likely to move our people. The days when you could use euphemisms to describe the Republican Party are gone. They have become the mindless True Believers of the late, unlamented Soviet Union days.

1. Same as it ever was. Did you just wake up with this realization?
Or, is this just your regular morning rant?

Decaf.

2. I am old enough to remember another Republican Party. The Party of
Eisenhower, Rockefeller, Charles Percy, Gerald Ford and others who stood for fiscal responsibility, decency and honesty.

3. That was also the party of the Dulles Brothers, MK-ULTRA, the NY drug laws
and Richard Nixon.

Go back to Lincoln, and I'll agree with you about responsibility, decency and honesty.

Okay, Charles Percy was a good Senator, as was Jacob Javitts.
