Fargo 42 update: TV interview with high school and college DFAers on list.
Well-spoken, caring, concerned that they were on a hit list. First time I have seen a reference to Democracy for America. Brian O-Shea is the host there for DFA, good spokesman.

Choose the 10:00 news hours, and it is about 4 minutes in, maybe a little more, right after the interview with the city commissioner.

Bush Pitches Social Security Reform
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Published: February 4, 2005

...not all were keen on Bush's ideas for Social Security.

``Do the math, George, it's the deficit,'' one man's sign said.

A woman carried a hot pink placard that read: ``Keep your mitts off Social Security.''

2. That was great!
They spent more time talking about the protest and interviewing those on the list than they did covering the speech. And a sit down interview with KKKarl? Is he part of the dog and pony show?

Will you post it tomorrow when it comes on?

3. That was first class coverage on the Fargo station
Looks like the White House made a big mistake excluding that city commissioner - it was the catalyst for the expose.

madfla, were you aware DU member Markus and his wife were on this infamous list? he made mention of it in the MN state forum.

They are local DFA members.

4. Thanks, just read his post.
Wow, his wife is upset. Hope it does not hurt her chances in job-hunting. What has our country come to mean now?

I am wondering now if we are on a list. I have had many letters printed, and hubby goes to peace rallies a lot.

5. Yes, how does one know until something like this comes to light?
I understand your concern. Didn't the college student being interviewed point out just such a possibility as Bush took his SS show on to other states including Montana and Florida?

At one of our neighborhood peace meetings in early 2003, we found out from a local attorney that everyone in our city with a "Say no to war with Iraq' sign in their yard had made it on to a government list.

6. It does concern me also that no Democrats are speaking out on this.
I have not heard a single one say a word. That puzzles me. It should be of very serious concern that members of a Democratic group whose founder is a possible new chair of the party are on a blacklist.

Also that a local city commissioner is on a blacklist. Dorgan quickly dismissed it yesterday, and changed the subject on Ed Schultz.

This is serious stuff, and I think the party should be addressing such things. I doubt very seriously it is just a local Fargo thing.

Ben Nelson was on Al Franken today, and the topic did not even come up. It should have come up. It is serious. No matter what state they are from, they should speak up against a blacklist.

Terry giving Howard a talking to.
