Memo to Gephardt
I don't like you, Sen. Gephardt, all that much; it seems like theres a bit of the Bob Dole "I'm running because I've been in the senate forever and it's my turn dammit" attitude about your campaign. But in the interest of party unity, I'd like to suggest that on your website's issues page ( http://www.dickgephardt2004.com/plugin/template/gephardt/13/* ) you include at least one about homeland security.

You see this is a big issue; and it's getting bigger. The Republicans are going to make sure of that. They are going to try to scare the American people and suggest that a vote for the Democratic candidate is, effectively, a vote for Terrorism. So if people go to your website's issues page and see that you have dedicated space to an international minimum wage or Universal pensions but not to homeland security or foreign affairs, such criticism might seem plausible. All the other candidates (except Sharpton and Mosely-Braun) have addressed this issue on their issues pages.

Note to Sharpton and Mosely-Braun--get an issue's page on your website; makes it easier for people to figure out where you stand on the issues.

Oh, and Mr. Gephardt; if I missed it, I apologize.

Bryant

1. Um, it's Representative Gephardt
or The Honorable Richard Gephardt.

Gephardt is NOT a United States Senator.

2. He's not a Senator
And this is only the second time he's run. Dole ran twice before '96 and had been on the ticket in '76.

4. Gephardt
I'd vote for him in a heartbeat over that pompous peeny-strutting boring phony Kerry. ;-)

5. I'm not a big fan
But if he gets the nomination, of course I'll vote for him. But he needs to put forward a strong democratic alternative to President Bush's plan to fight terrorism.

6. that's bullshit
Bush's little war increased the liklihood of "terrorism" and lack of security for the US. Christ, why do you buy this mindset? If more Democrats challenged the perception rather than competing for the tough but disasterously stupid prize, the world would be a safer place. And we would have more friends than enemies.

7. Well perhaps I phrased myself badly
I'm not under any illusion that President Bush's plan has been a success or is a great plan. It's a very bad plan. But whoever challenges President Bush needs to be able to say both "Here's what's wrong with the Bush plan" and "Here's what I would do differently."

9. I'm not sure what your point is
But I did look over Bob Graham's website; he does have address national security issues--as does Lieberman, Kerry, Dean, and Kunicich.
