IRS agents to get help from private debt collectors
On the surface this appears reasonable....but read on and you'll see how the Bush plan is to OUTSOURCE the job of collecting while allowing the collection agencies to keep 25% of what they collect. Plus, these non-governmental firms will have access to our personal information....

Just another hidden tidbit of the gutting of our civil liberties....

2. Non-governmental firms ALREADY have access to our personal info
Google Tax returns + outsourcing. More returns processed in India every year.

Also, if you apply for a mortgage in the US, that might just get processed overseas too. Have family working in title insurance business. They work with lenders. My daughter is continually having a lot of trouble with one firm's rep who thinks someone in Tucson should be able to fix a log-jam of policies for properties in Texas. The guy got all defensive with her when she asked what part of India he was in, but she has too many buddies from that part of the world to mistake his accent. A call to the local office of the mortgage company confirmed, after she kept pressing, that yes, they have outsourced most loan processing.

Letting private companines collect and get a fee is one more chapter in corporate welfare and privatizing services which are better done by government. It's what CEOs want so it is what America will get.
