RNC seeks $$ to push agenda "past liberal media filter" LMAO!
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=548&ncid=703&e=7&u=/ap/20050127/ap_on_el_ge/gop_media

WASHINGTON - The Republican Party is following up record fund raising for President Bush's re-election effort by asking donors to finance its efforts to get Bush's message "past the liberal media filter" to the public.

Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman sent a fund-raising e-mail Wednesday telling supporters donations are needed to help Bush advance his second-term agenda.

"The president has great goals for our country: a growing economy, strong homeland and national defense, tort and Social Security reform and affordable health care. But we need your help to get the president's message past the liberal media filter and directly to the American people," wrote Mehlman, Bush's 2004 campaign manager. Mehlman asked donors to give $25 or more.

1. the liberal media filter = laws against lies and propaganda
They have to be circumspect in the future in who they pay and how they say it because the legal community has been alerted.

3. The funny thing is that the "Liberal Media" will spends days...
... covering this story and pointing out how hard it is for the President to get his message through the liberal media filter. Then to provide an example of how Bush is going to do it they will show hours of his staged Q&A's. Thus not only providing him with the media coverage he desires but also reinforcing the idea of a liberal media.

4. We need to stop calling it the
"Liberal media" even in jest or sarcasm! Let's call it like it is..and reframe the debate.

It's the Fascist/non free-press media. The mainstream republican mouthpiece media..the propoganda machine of the chimphouse!

There is no Liberal media except on the internet and a few editorialists throughtout the Country.

17. I've been thinking about this
for awhile..everytime I see someone write "liberal media" in quotes ..I cringe because I Really think we need to make that misnomer obsolete!

The "Fascist media" is not an exaggeration.

Hi B! :hi:

14. They've max'd out on the message.
The Republicans have got as many converts as they'll ever hope to reach. It's not the "liberal media" that's the problem...it's the message people aren't buying.

8. We're wise to Operation Mockingbird MSM's payoffs etc.etc.etc.
First Armstwrong Williams, now Maggie Gallagher. Who's next ? The payola from Operation Mockingbird should be investigated, as should all bogus CIA Domestic operations that just plug an administration without a clue.

All the White House payola is coming to light so they need direct donations all of a sudden?

9. Guy on the Daily Show a couple nights ago said
this is the reason the reps are winning, called it direct mailing. Demos need to get off their butts and follow the same lead, can't depend on the MSM to do it for us.

13. And last night Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC
snidely reported on Boxer:

MITCHELL: But Barbara Boxer is also using her opposition to Rice to solicit political contributions, sending out this e-mail that says, “that‘s why I took a stand and voiced my concerns about Dr. Rice‘s misleading statements.” The Boxer e-mail has links so people can contribute to the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee.

Don't get me wrong. I respect Boxer and sent the DSCC some money today. Why? Because Andrea "The Liberal Not" pissed me off. Her segment was shown during Olbermann's show otherwise I wouldn't have been watching.

Who the fuck do these Repukes think they're kidding..liberal media filter..

16. Mehlman left out these Dubya's 2nd-term goals:
(1) Solidifying election-stealing, (2) even more tax cuts for the rich, (3) shutting-down of all public libraries and replacing them with faith-based operations, (4) extermination of gays, and (5) starting more wars that will never end.

And now that they can't do it with our tax dollars without scrutiny they are "reaching out" to donors.
