on CNN they're actually debating the political implications
of neither F911 or the passion getting an oscar nom.

2. Hey it's hard not covering the news
Think of all the news they have to not cover - the lambasting Condi took yesterday, Howard Dean's stampede to DNC chair, *'s sagging polls numbers, the Christo-fascists issuing demands to * about ill-conceived constitutional amendments.

It's hard work. ;-)

3. Hmm, let's see.
Considering the Moore withdrew F9/11 from consideration for the Oscars, there would be absolutley no political implications, right?

Not that CNN cares about the facts, mind you.

4. He withdrew from the documentary side
Didn't he? I thought he was still up for best picture oscar.

But the academy got it all wrong once again.

5. I think there were two factors
1) Withdrawing from best documentary

2) Pushing to have it out on video in October made it ineligible for Best Picture.

That's what I thought I heard. But I could easily be wrong.

6. Stephen Colbert (TDS) hit this on the head
Stephen Colbert from The Daily Show was on Fresh Air (NPR) this week. His statement was something to the effect of

"the 24 hours news networks live in the same world as the major netowrks, who only need an hour or so every day for news. They have to fill the rest of the time with something."
