Why there is no exit plan for Iraq
There is no exit plan in Iraq because there is no plan for exiting. Ever. The Iraqis can look around at the other countries America has been at war with over the past 60 years or so and see the results.

Japan - Invaded - Currently occupied by US forces

Germany - Invaded - Currently occupied by US forces

Italy - Invaded - Currently occupied by US forces

Vietnam - Invaded - Not currently occupied by US forces

Its really very simple when you look at it. This is a win or lose situation. No middle ground here. The Iraqis know this. They are not stupid. If the average Iraqi were as ignorant as the average Fox news viewer we would have it made I think?

1. You forgot one thing
Where else would we be able to stage the invasion of Iran? We don't hvae to worry about airspace or moving troops - it's perfect. Country-hopping, so to speak.

2. Here's the main reason we're not leaving Iraq
LONDON (AFP) - British oil giant BP said it had signed an agreement
with the Iraqi government to study an oil field in the south of the
country.

It comes after Anglo-Dutch energy group Shell on Friday said it had
signed a similar deal.

"We've signed a contract to do a technical study on the Rumeila oil
field" in southern Iraq (news - web sites) close to Basra, a BP
spokesman told AFP.

"It's a technical study based on looking at the data to get a better
picture on the reservoir. It's a purely technical study, it won't
involve any BP people going into Iraq -- the study will be carried out in the UK."

The spokesman gave no further details of the project but said BP was
keen to develop relations with the Iraqi oil industry.

"We're delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with the
ministry of oil on such an important project," the spokesman said.

Shell on Friday said it had signed a letter of understanding with the
Iraqi oil ministry to assist in a similar study of the Kirkuk field in northern Iraq.

4. The Iraqi's need only to look to Iraq
We are building several huge, PERMANENT, military bases there. We are also building the world's largest US embassy. We're moving in. It's so obvious.
