Some more good news for those of us who support Dean for DNC chair :)

Governor Howard Dean was endorsed today by several state Democratic Party chairs and vice chairs, adding to his broad, diverse and growing list of support both among the members of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The list of voting DNC state party chairs and vice-chairs supporting Governor Dean include:

Florida: Chairman Scott Maddox, Vice-Chairwoman Diane Glasser
Mississippi: Chairman Wayne Dowdy
Oklahoma: Chairman Jay Parmley, Vice-Chairwoman Debbe Leftwich
Utah: Vice-Chairwoman Nancy Woodside

1. Do you know if any states are endorsing other candidates?
Or is Dean the only one so far getting endorsements?

2. Dean is the only one I know of so far who's gotten any endorsements
but that doesn't mean that no one else has been endorsed by other state chairmen. I'll try to find out that info.

6. can't find any other state endorsements
some other candidates have some individual endorsements but I haven't been able to find any other candidates who have received endorsements from current state chairs.

5. Despite the Brouhaha Over
people in "pickups with confederate flags stickers," Dean seems to have been the only candidate understanding the need to appeal to white southerners. Looks like some party officials understood what he was saying and agree with him.

7. I agree
dean may have worded that poorly, but the meaning behind the words was missed by a lot of people.

I live in Oklahoma and remember the primary season well. By the time our primary came around, Dean had long since lost his steam, but in the fall of 2003 there was a TON of enthusiasm for Dean among Democrats of many stripes in this state, as well as some begrudging admiration among republicans I knew who happened to agree with Dean about the iraq mess.

And yet some of our own national leadership murmurs "northeastern liberal elitist" everytime his name comes up. :eyes:

8. As DNC Chair,
Dean doesn't have to appeal directly to red state voters, but he can move the party in the direction of red-state-friendly populism. That's why he's a much better choice than a red-state Democrat who's a beltway insider and a Republican wannabe. I am heartened by the fact that so much of the DNC seems to realize this.
