And even if he has only been on the job for only a month he was in this country for the last 4 years?

Only softball questions so far.

you don't think that's "relevant" for an incumbent Sec. of State to be asked about?

I guess the only balls on the Democratic side of the aisle belong to Barbara Boxer, who like all women, wisely keeps hers where the DLC can't easily snip them off.

OK, that was catty. Obama isn't distinguishing himself, though, from what I'm hearing.

32. typical DUplicity imho
it's so easy to just say "someone sucks" on an anonymous web forum, because they "lack balls."

all the while not giving people credit for having the courage to actually be a public servant, to speak in public about serious issues, etc.

i doubt the person who started this thread would have the courage to tell Sen. Obama that "he sucks" to his face.

committment as regards getting out of Iraq. Our troops are the best in the world and haven't made a great deal of progress there and that we obviously have a very long road ahead.

She sputtered about some imaginary Iraqies who she is sure are going to be willing to take up the fight for their own "freedom." She sounded like the incompetent and liar she so apparently is.

he is supposed to not make waves. Hillary did the same thing in 2000. If he got in her face now, his colleagues would see that as showboating and blackball him. He did as he should: let his seniors do the headhunting.

I thought he asked relevant questions and I think the more he does this and the more comfortable he becomes, he won't be nearly as hesitant about getting his point across. I don't think he did great, but I don't think he did poorly either.

29. This is nothing but a comedy of bullshit! (WW III coming)
Looks like the agenda of both parties is to carpet bomb Iran so it won't go nuclear. This will start a worldwide religious war between Shiite Islamic people and Israeli/American Jews and Christians. The writing is already on the wall.

Since Israel will not tolerate a nuclear armed Iran neither will we. But Iran is determined to protect its sovereignty by building nukes, so diplomacy will fail and the USA or Israel will start dropping bombs. This will infuriate the Shiites in Iraq and elsewhere. The Sunnis are already mad at us over our carpet bombing of Falluja, etc. so they will probably join the Shiites in their rage against US/Israeli imperialism. Pakistan will be forced to side with its Islamic brothers and stop aiding us.

A religious war like this is bad news for all of us. There MUST be another way to go than to let our leaders start a religious war. I imagine the rest of the world feels Iran has just as much right to develop nukes as Israel (since both nations have promoted terrorism, whether covert or militarily .

38. Thank you
I was merely expressing my frustration with only having one senator asking real questions, and the rest of them competing in who can say the nicest things to her.

I am not here to see Obama fail, but I would like to see some democrat stand up for what they believe in.

I find the explanations about him being new and that he has to establish himself first valid. However, I did not think it was necessary for him to so overly nice to her. She is after all the one who has been lying for the past 2 years.

42. I think you need to read the transcripts and watch the whole hearing.
I've been hearing some extremely relevant questions from various senators regarding the administration's policy on Haiti (abysmal) and other matters.

It's all very well to be for justice and truth and all that, but here's a news flash: THE SENATE IS FORMAL. YOU PICK YOUR BATTLES. It's not DU. For example, there isn't the anonymity...

His address before the Democratic Convention last summer was dazzling.

Illinois Democrats are wildly lucky to have him and Dick Durbin representing them in the U.S. Senate.
