hopi elders 2005
From the Hopi Elders 2005

The birth canal is now wide open. Do not be afraid of the dark. You may lose your breath at this time. You may recoil at what you think is up ahead and turn away. Catch yourself and turn into love. Remember, it is your own darkness you see and phenomena is not as you imagine it to be. Release yourself from your role in those moments. See what it is to rest within the rhythm of the ancient drums felt in the human heart. Cradle a newborn baby and remember. Lead the peace.

Fellow tribes, you were warned to keep your head above water. The water came and will come again. Mother has shook and will soon shake again. She maintains her natural state of balance in ways many choose to not understand. Much more dancing of her is yet to come. Listen to her heartbeat. Watch closely her animals. Hear her stones tumbling in her streams, and keep your shoes handy. Know how to make fire. Know where to find water. Know that if she comes for you, she has always been your guiding companion and receive her wings.

Is your garden in order? What is buried in the soil of your soul? Have you released your fear? Be aware at all times what is rooted, or attempting to root now in your garden. Let your mind tend to your own soil at this time. Within your own garden is the place for good medicine to grow. Keep to truth and there will develop no new fears in your drumming.

The idea of your life as a struggle must be released from your thinking vocabulary. There is no need to be afraid of life's dance. A stampede of White Buffalo are a beautiful part of life's tapestry. Likewise give your life for what you believe in. As you were asked before, you are reminded again to take nothing personally during this time, for the moment you do, your spiritual growth and journey come to a halt.

The Elders request you to keep aligned to the Path of Peace for the duration of this world cycle and continued state of unrest for our Mother Earth. They ask that we live our lives as a prayer, and resist praying for certain situations or outcomes. They assure us that we are safely in the heart of the Great Spirit and will not be destroyed. The Elders say it is again time to align with honoring ALL life. This is the meaning of Mother's call to attention. If the sea comes for you look for your guide and take hands. Keep your shoes handy. Know how to make fire. With over 50% of the world's water contaminated now, know where to find water or how to purify it.

Live each day in celebration. The smallest things are to be cherished. Feed and clothe your life. You are home. Home is not a place, but a state of being. "You" are home.

4. That does sound like part of it.
Part of it also - seems like like people should avoid sitting around thinking "WE ARE DOOOOOoooooMed. But at the same time there is a spiritual toughness and flexibility in being ready for catastrophe....

5. they are saying shit is going to happen
and it doesnt have to be harder times. if you stay true. if you can sit in truth. if you are aware and your eyes are opened, it wont be your lesson. it wont be painful. this is the healing of earth. this is progression in process. an awakening for those that arent aware. if you, your self is in peace, stillness, love, you will be fine

there is more to this. i know when i read the other yesterday it was old. i follow spiritual boards, and have had an awesome spiritual journey the last 5 years. when i read the last one, i knew we had already done it. so was happy to see this new one.

12. I wasn't aware it was part of a trilogy:
Koyaanisqatsi (1983) "life out of balance"
Powaqqatsi (1988) "life in transformation"
Naqoyatsi (2002) "life in war"

I haven't seen the second two yet. I'm almost afraid to, given when they were released.

I highly recommend Koyaanisqatsi, though, if only for the imagery the director manages to build in. Amazon has the first two on a 2-DVD set bundled together for a little over $20. I think I'll be ordering myself an early-birthday present...

8. Said with great love and insight
Certainly made me look back and into myself for perspective of the future. In the future, like a tsunami, we will be extended into much greater human sacrifice of life by not being prepared.
The greatest people in this nation, were those that were able to share the simplest ideals of life in the most meaningful way. Very few were allowed to become, or be known as, the greatest leaders.
We can only hope that there are yet a few who can help to lead and teach in this world, a way to live in peace. Until then, we do need to find personal peace, and become strong with one another.

13. I've been thinking about Hopi Prophecy a lot since 2000
--and though I'm thoroughly stuck in western empirical thinking, even within that mode there is room to view others' ways of seeing the workings of the world.

http://www.alphacdc.com/banyacya/un92.html

Thomas Banyacya's address to the United Nations in 1992.

"Nature itself does not speak with a voice that we can easily understand. Neither can the animals and birds we are threatening with extinction talk to us. Who in this world can speak for nature and the spiritual energy that creates and flows through all life? In every continent are humanbeings who are like you but who have not separated themselves from the land and from nature. It is through their voice that Nature can speak to us. You have heard those voices and many messages from the four comers of the world today. I have studied comparative religion and I think in your own nations and cultures you have knowledge of the consequences of living out of balance with nature and spirit. The native peoples of the world have seen and spoken to you about the destruction of their lives and homelands, the ruination of nature and the desecration of their sacred sites. It is time the United Nations used its rules to investigate these occurrences and stop them now."

http://www.ienearth.org/gwcc_pnt2.html
another view of the prophecies as a philosopy of history

voices of various hopi elders:
http://www.joanocean.com/Hopi.html

http://www.geocities.com/loinexplicado/civiliza/hopiprof.htm

interestingly, the Hopi seem to agree with many of the concepts of Armaggeddon, but they disagree completely with the manifest destiny and with the ideas of the fundamentalists or others who believe the earth can be bought and sold, or those who believe that the Great Spirit has given humans dominion over the earth.

Both the baptists and the mormons visited the Hopi Traditionals to see if they were the "White Brother," but the Hopi said they were not. My uneducated guess is that they are something like The Red Cross, and other organizations that do not accept nation-state boundaries for deciding who should live or die.

http://www.dreamscape.com/morgana/pan.htm

"When the end is near, we will see a halo of mist around the heavenly bodies. Four times it will appear around the sun as a warning that we must reform, telling us that people of all color must unite and arise for survival, and that we must uncover the causes of our dilemmas. Unless man-made weapons are used to strike first, peace will then come.

"So the time will come when we will experience late springs and early frosts, this will be the sign of the returning Ice Age.

"We believe militarism is born out of injustice, poverty and ignorance where absolute governments refuse to hear the grievances of minorities. So the people resort to violence, demonstrations and even terrorism when they see no other way to be heard. What can we do when our world leaders and the people are acting like fools in attempts to solve the problems confronting us? Once again we will quote the prophecy of our Elders. We hope it will interest you so that you will be more aware of it because it has been happening for some time.

"According to prophecy, the day will come when people in high places will be hunted. This will get out of control. The hunting will gather strength and spread. This situation might even erupt on our land. Finally, this will lead us to the Biblical version of Armageddon (the Hopi version is closely related). A final decisive battle between good and evil. This will occur under one God or Chief. The prophets say we will speak one language and that this will happen in Hopiland, in the village of Oraibi , where the new life plan will be drawn, in the pattern and cycle of religion. Here also a final decision will be made for the wicked. They will be beheaded and speak no more. If this does not materialize there will be a total destruction through the acts of man or nature. Then new life will begin from a girl and a boy. This is a frightening prophecy and will not be supported by many.

http://www.dreamscape.com/morgana/parallel.htm

parallels between the Hopi and Sumerians, according to the writer.

17. "urgent call from the Mayan elders of Guatemala":
Through the ancient techniques of divination and tools of prophecy, the Mayan elders are calling forth to humanity at THIS TIME to pay closer attention to the messages being sent forth by the mother earth and to immediately take the actions they have been calling for, to unite in an effort to bring balance again upon our planet. The recent destruction that manifested in Indonesia is predicted to now occur rapidly upon five continents of the earth. This message is not meant to induce fear, to the contrary, it is a call for bravery and for action. The elders are concerned about what has been presented in their recent divinations and they call to all humanity to warn their leaders and to work very hard at a spiritual level to prevent the impending destruction. This message, verified and brought forth by various Mayan elders in Guatemala, is for all of humanity. The hurricanes in the US and the earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia have been warnings and we must now pay attention or the possibilities of floods in Europe, Los Angeles, earthquakes and other efforts of the mother earth to awaken us will manifest quickly.

There is a specific call for people around the world to join in prayer, meditation or whatever method of spirituality one engages in to unite on January 18th at the time of their local sunset (approx 6:00PM). This date is B'elejeb(9) Keme according to the sacred Mayan Cholq’ij calendar and has the potential for protecting humanity from disaster.

There will be many major ceremonies in the Mayan communities for this purpose. An open invitation is extended to humanity that wish to join the Mayan people for the Waxa’qib B’atz’ ceremonies on February 12th in Guatemala.

Again, this is a strong message, not meant to drive us to react in fear, for this will only negatively impact the level of destruction and our own circumstance. This is the opportunity for humanity to rise to the occasion and come together along the strong lines that unite us and overcome the obstacles that divide us. Please distribute this message widely.

Message issued by Mayan elders in Guatemala and delivered via:
Carlos Barrios, Mayan Ajq’ij, Antigua, Guatemala
Adam Rubel, Co-Director, Saq’ Be’: Organization for Mayan and Indigenous Spiritual Studies

doesnt hurt doing 18th prayer, (for which i see as sending out love, connecting as one, not asking for something)....two days prior to bush day. maybe we can stop his energy going out before he does. lordy, unchallenged, who knows what he will create on the 20th , wink.

working to 2012

20. mr peabody's uranium mines

the most perfect illustration of life out of balance, to me, was when I learned that the uranium that was used for the bombs dropped on Japan came from Hopi sacred land.

they call this mining a rape of mother earth.

peabody was diverting water from hopi land, as well, in their operations that were for the purpose of lighting the travesty of greed and stupidy that is the city of Lost Vegas.

then there is the Yucca mountain waste issue, as well, so near to these people whose very existence has been continuously threatened.

back in 2000, I think it was, the flame that had been kept going in Japan to signify the atomic bombs that were dropped on their city, were brought to the United States with a contingent of Tibetan Buddhists, back to the Hopi sacred lands.

that, too, in retrospect, seems more like an omen than a reconciliation.
