So many American children are going to grow up without a dad or mom,
due to their deaths in Iraq. We've talked about the burden that these families will carry forever.

It just dawned on me, the children will grow up to be adults and raise families of their own. Think about their children, the ones who will not have a grandfather or grandmother because Bush* lied us to war. I doubt that they will understand that grandfather or grandmother was patriotic. I bet they would rather have a grandfather to fish with, or a grandmother to see them get married.

This war has stained our nation for generations.

1. And it goes farther - the stories I've been told about my GREAT-grandma,
those kids won't have.

I can't even imagine it.

4. Its not so comforting to know that Grandpa/Grandma died in a war
long ago and far away, when its Grandparent's Day at school. As a teacher, I can tell you that children never feel so alone as when everyone else has Grandma and Grandpa visiting everybody else but them.

The wake from this disaster will haunt this country at least as long as Viet Nam.

2. i was talking to my young Mormon bank teller who is a big Bushie
and I asked him when he was going to enlist.

He informed me HE was married (I asked what that had to do with anything, which he ignored)

He then told me his little brother was signing up though

I was so sad, I told him I truly hoped his brother would come home safe and OK

I repeated my best wishes for his brother again as I left.

:sigh:

3. Tell me about it--Vietnam killed 50,000 of my generation and
damaged countless others.

5. And the towns they come from won't be the same either.
Especially in the small towns. These soldiers could have been, and probably already were, solid members and/or leaders of their communities. And they died so the Dumbass could show off Saddam's pistol. What an enormous waste.

7. You think that's something.
Our years of sanctions killed hundreds of thousands to over a million Iraqis already; about half of which were children.

So when an official war started, I didn't see what the big deal was. We were already killing Iraqis.

I know. Hussein wasn't innocent. He hoarded money. Using all the money they had wouldn't have allowed certain materials to come into the country to fix their water supply though. It just wouldn't have.
