Is rense.com reliable?

More Heavy US Losses, Including 18 Decapitated GIs
Mujahideen Strike Heavy In Ramadi And Basra
By Omar Al-Faris
JUS
1-13-5

Mujahideen continued to target American occupiers and Iraqi collaborators throughout Iraq on Tuesday. Fierce fighting took place in Ramadi with large number of American casualties reported. Basra was also hot with reports of a rocket attack that took the life of some British soldiers. In the mean time, Americans also discovered 18 bodies of their comrades that had been beheaded in Fallujah,

Fallujah remains under media lockdown as little information is being received. We will update readers as soon as more information becomes available.

of merc casualties. (And who probably have not set up a system to keep track of them, either, thus giving plausable deniability.)

3. If I am remembering correctly
nothing from rense.com has ever been true, or if it has, it was by accident.

22. I wasn't indirectly calling you a freeper.
The comment was apt. And mobs don't mean anything, except to to mobbers. The site mirrors info from all sorts of sources; to paint it with a broad brush is unfair, and anything but liberal. That's my point.

7. Here's the source...
Here's the source for that story, I don't know whether it's a reputable source or not.

http://www.jihadunspun.com/intheatre_internal.php?article=101258&list=/home.php

I found it by pasting "Mujahideen Strike Heavy In Ramadi And Basra" into the search bar of Google News, it only came up with the single match.

More come up when I search for the author but they are all from the same website, so I would be skeptical.

Rense is an "iffy" source, in my opinion, - he posts articles from all over on his website. Some of them are good and some are not. i do not know if he vets the articles or authors before he posts them. I always try to research anything I see there to see if I can find where it came from.

Which is an Islamic extremist's equivalent to NewsMax.

I wouldn't trust this farther than I could spit.

12. How do we know it's not true?
We know from experience that we can't trust the news sources. Also we know that any troops who die en route to the hospital in Germany, or on the way home are not counted as casualties.

The number of 1,334 (?) may be much higher if we include all casualties. I just read on the LBN that the combined losses (of the dead & injured) are now at 10% of the entire active combat soldiers.

So they deliberately try to keep the numbers as low as possible. But what if it's higher. The military "geniuses" realize that it's a numbers game. We don't know all the military families, so we can't keep track of the true totals.

Just like we don't trust the web site mentioned above, we should not trust the "news" on casualties.

Much of which would be swept under the rug, if possible, for its embarrassing truth. Often the info is posted without editorial comment, or sanctioning.

Rense is not a primary source; it's a portal.

Looks like this one is from "Jihad Unspun," which I don't trust. (I suspect it's COINTELPRO.)

24. Funny. The other day I was googling Kephra's name & found
a bunch of Will Pitt's stuff there that Kephra had done the research on.

Go figure

Rense is no less reliable than any other site out there. It's a portal leaving it totally up to the reader to decide how much they trust the original source.

No worse than CNN or the New York Times.

To answer your original question... IMO, the truth on this story is probably lying in a half-way house somewhere between what JihadUnpsun reported and what the American media reported.

I can't verify what Jihad Unspun says but I sure as hell know they didn't throw any damn flowers at us.
