5. It's the greatest political insult of our time, I think...
that Wellstone was replaced with that creature Norm Coleman.

6. It's beyond unfair and wrong
i mean could he be more opposite from Wellstone? I really hope there is some dirt on Coleman that will see the light of day.

9. They haven't said, but
Norm Coleman is up for re-election in 2008, and so theoretically one of them could run aainst Coleman in 2008.

10. He was my hero~
Edited on Sat Jan-08-05 05:22 PM by Avalon Sparks
The best senator we've ever had.

It's still a devasting loss.

I watched the trailer, and tears just started flowing fast.

I miss him more than words can say, it still hurts so much to have lost him and Shelia. There's just an empty void there.

He was an amazing man. He'll always be my hero.

His spirit is still alive, and I hope that maybe one of his sons will rise in politics one day.

Thanks for posting this information.

I have this picture at my computer desk and it moves me whenever I see it.

With his daughter Marcia and his wife, Sheila, Senator-elect Paul Wellstone waved farewell from his bus on a chilly late December morning before heading for Washington, D.C., in 1990.

11. $20 is a bit much for some, and what institutions would pay $300?
So here's their list of showings (subject to change, of course):

I wonder what the doco will conveniently forget, when not overstating.

(Sorry, it's not anti-Wellstone, my commentary. It's anti-politician. The GLBT always loved Wellstone, even after he willfully signed the DOMA. And, flame me all everybody wants, but I will stand up and squawk when I feel there's a wrongdoing. And I was outraged when he broke his promise, and even said he'd be much better off if he found somebody true to his ideals (most of which were very noble). He lost credibility by breaking his promise when he didn't need to. Worse, I think it was a contributing factor to why he lost his life.)

15. I wonder what the doco will conveniently forget,
When you condense 58 years of living to 88 minutes, you have to leave some stuff out. We didn't leave out his broken promise to only run twice and we didn't "forget" about DOMA.

We have been screening the doc since October mostly around Minnesota.
Our last 2 screenings in December screened to over 600 people at the Riverview theatre.

$300 is the going rate for public viewing rights paid by university libraries.

13. Have you guys ever read the book about his 1990 Senate Campaign?
I think it's called "Professor Wellstone Goes To Washington"...you probably have...if not, you should read it, when I read for my Campaigns & Elections class last semester I enjoyed, and so did most of the other people in class.
