My prediction
John McCain will replace Rumsfeld right after the "election" in Iraq. He will then convince enough moronic Americans that to "win" in Iraq that a draft is necessary. And a majority of Americans will support it.

1. Last two statements, I agree. But, IMHO, McCain is too much of
a loose cannon, and thinks for himself too much for them to trust him with a cabinet position. He might do something silly like suggest we get out of there. I think it will be some little-noticed undersecretary of this or that, who owes Bushco big time, who they'll put up for it.

3. McCain would NEVER suggest getting out of Iraq. He is a hawks hawk
Edited on Tue Dec-21-04 10:27 AM by NNN0LHI
He was insisting that Clinton send ground troops into Kosovo after the first week of bombing. I remember him talking that crazy shit too many times over his years as a senator. He is more of a hawk than Chimpy. He eats that axis of evil shit up.

18. McCain won't give up his power in the Senate,
and certainly won't risk boarding a sinking ship as SecDef. At the same time, Bush wouldn't dare elevate Wolfowitz because we have a war against Islam. The Saudi royal family certainly wouldn't approve of a Jew heading our anti-Islam wars. Jihad, anyone?

2. I disagree on all counts
The neocons will never let Bush ditch Rumsfeld for a nonneocon.

Bush won't pick McCain for anything because he hates him and more importantly it would lose a senate seat (Dem Gov in AZ)

and the majority of Americans will never support a draft. Calling for a draft WOULD bring bush down.

8. I am not so sure about that. At my work, I brought up the thought of a
draft and people were not as against it as I thought. Some said the youth of today could be well served by mandatory military service. They would get to appreciate their freedoms that way. A mom with a 16yo said she would br proud to know her son was protecting our way of life against terrorists.

Life in the Bible belt can be strange indeed.

12. Yea. I would be really proud if my kid was forced to go to the...
...other side of the world to kill some poor bastard that never even thought about harming Americans until America invaded his country. We got some real sick puppies out there.

4. I'm looking for Cheyney to resign
Health problems. He'll still run things from behind the scenes. This will give the cabal a chance to hand pick fuckhead's successor. Three years as VP heading into the 2008 election.
Rummy will get dumped when they are reasonably assured he'll keep his mouth shut. His loose lips could sink ......

11. That makes so much sense
They need a candidate for 08 that will be seen as a continuation of * and his policies. Having someone serve now in place of Cheney would be just the ticket. We all know Cheney doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell to run and win so they need to substitute for him now and start the process. Ugh!

14. They have a lot of stuff to keep hidden
When a dem or non-neocon gets elected there may be some attempt to investigate some of the crap that has been going on. Plus they will have operations still going on that are covers for other operations. They'll need to maintain power. To not be in power could result in indictments.

BTW
I don't think it will be an easily recognized name like Rudy or Frist. I'd look for some somewhat obscure congressman who can be easily manipulated.

17. Nah, people are starting to see through Iraq -- it'd take another
911-sized attack to bring back a draft.
