4. Bob Herbert has been very vocal about
how the policies of bush have been very disasterous for the City and other large cities in the NE.

5. You've got to be kidding.
I greatly admire Bob Herbert, who writes at least one Great column every two weeks.

I like Frank Rich who nails it on the head at least once a month.

I endure Maureen Dowd who occasionally gets her head out of her (Georgetown party) ass and writes a meaningful column.

But Paul Krugman (for those who don't know is a professor of economics at Princeton) is among the greatest columnists ever to write for the NYT.

He's outside the beltway and doesn't give a shit who gets insulted, or who doesn't. He's the journalistic antithesis of Faux News. He tells it like it is.

I have no doubt that Bush has a "Nixon-type" enemies list and that Paul Krugman is right at the top. What greater honor could anyone hope for in life?

6. I guess we have a winner
I'm not surprised. It's interesting that DU loves this true-blue economist so much, but he's an economist of the FDR-Keyenesian time, back when government made the economy work for the people. Milton Friedman has nothing on him.

7. The Krugster all the way
A highly creditable nice guy that handed OReilly his hat during CNBC's Russert show.

14. Come on, peeps! Props for my man Nicholas!
I really appreciated his column about the Smear vets. I like Bob Herbert too, but Nick is my favorite. Dowd annoys me. Freidman I will read occasionally because I liked the evenhandedness of "From Beruit to Jerusalem." Krugman is pretty good. Brooks is only slightly okay, because he's started since the election to snack on his fellow Repubs. Safire, though I should like him as a journalist for his essays on language, can kiss my grits. The man is completely divorced from reality.
