Democratic debate – Survivor style
if after each debate the participants got to vote one candidate out of the race, who do you think would vote for whom, who would be the first voted out & who would be the ultimate survivor – winning the grand prize of the nomination?

as on the TV show, the candidate's motives for voting can vary. it could be based on who they don't like/find annoying, who they think is their biggest threat, who doesn't carry their weight, etc.

5. And he isn't much of a threat...
...look at it this way: the DLC bashes Dean non-stop, not Kucinich. They'll probably get rid of Dean first and only then Kucinich.

19. what is it you don't like about Kucinich?

The abortion issue? Flag burning? I just think it is interesting that you support Camejo (Green) and Huffington (Independent) in California, but don't like Dk whose positions are very similar to theirs.

As for Dean and the DLC--I doubt there is a real conflict there.

edited for spelling.

11. That's true but I think they'd keep him because he also makes the
other candidates appear more reasonable in their responses.

17. or he makes their bullshit seem all the more transparent
DK is the only non-corporate candidate in the game.

Although, I should include Sharpton and Mosley Braun in that category.

4. Hmmm...
...on DU, Lieberman got the boot, then Gephardt, then Sharpton, then I don't remember if Dean or Kerry, and then AP stopped putting those polls up because people were voting strategically (I for example voted Kerry to ensure Dean was still in the race even though my 4th least favorite candidate is Graham).

What will probably happen is that Lieberman and Dean will be booted in rounds 1 and 2. Then I have no idea, however.

6. Actually DEAN would be the first to go
They would all agree that right now he is the biggest threat...Second would be Kerry...

8. This would be a Survivor going into the finals
Edited on Thu Sep-04-03 09:32 PM by Walt Starr
At the point where nine survivors are left, everybody voted off is on the final jury deciding the winner. The obvious choice in 5 out of 6 Survivor shows at 9 survivors left is to take out the strongest. The weakest stands one of the best shots at this point.

Ergo, Dean would go tonight, he's polling too high. After that, Kerry Graham and Lieberman would form the Senate alliance to go to the final three, so Gephardt would be toast followed by Edwards and Kucinich(depending upon who wins immunity).

Mosley-Braun and Sharpton would follow soon thereafter unless they can unite with Gephardt or Kucincich and Edwards, but I would expect a Lieberman crossover to form a secret alliance with Edwards bringing him into the fold of the Senate Alliance and putting any alliance with Mosley-Braun and Sharpton out of the question. If Edwards joins the Senate Alliance, the final two would end up being Graham and Lieberman with Lieberm an winning

If Edwards pulled a double cross and they actually get Lieberman voted off, the final two would be Sharpton and Mosley-Braun unless Edwards wins final immunity. Sharpton would be the ultimate survivor in either scenario with an Edwards double cross.

I LOVE Survivor. It shows people at their worst.

20. Gilligan, Ginger, MaryAnn and the Professor
ask Lieberman to take the salvaged cabin door surf-bored and head out for help in shark-infested FL surf. Lieberman begins taking Spanish lessons in case he's picked up by USCG.

22. You know what, after tonight I honestly can't answer that question.
Most of the time, I hated Lieberman. But, you know, he kind of serves a purpose. He's like the stand-in for Bush. He lets people attack Bush, in spirit, without having Bush there in person.

More then ever before tonight, I feel like I just like one of them much more than the rest and not that I hate a bunch of them.
