Sometimes, I think Rove's (neocon) strategy is to attempt to pull off every outrageous act they can imagine as fast as possible - then in the overwhelming onslaught much will get through before the people even figure out what's happening - especially with the media cheerleading as they are.

The media and the morans (sic) are then so far behind the curve they are left to wonder about a few obvious obfuscations on the surface - while the truly outrageous crap goes on pretty much under the radar. These guys are smart.

They had it first and did not forward the actual documents, but only their summaries at first.
Everybody who saw the originals knew them to be faked IMHO.

9. The name that is sticking with this so far is "forged"

However, you are right and I do appreciate precision of language. I think its important.

Maybe its in reference to the fact that the signature is presumed forged.

Maybe we do need a new name for it....naaaaahh..its working just fine right now.

8. Clue -- it wasn't a professional job

I don't remember the details, but remember that the forgery was so bad it was quickly determined that it was a forgery. So rule out any "professional" organizations like the CIA,FBI, KGB, etc... Unless, of course, they were trying to set up the Bushies, just like Karl Rove likes to set us up -- then it might have been pros with a different motive.
