Freepers are INSANE ...

The Republican House on urging from a REPUBLICAN President creates the New Freedom Initiative that will force mental health screening on schoolchildren and pregant women.

The freeper response is NOT to turn on the Republicans. The FREEPER response is to blame the Democrats and call for electing EVEN MORE Republicans to counter "Hillary's thought police".

At WHAT point will the party of personal responsibility be held RESPONSIBLE for ANY of it's actions?????

5. I can only hope Hilary will come out against this,
no matter how she needs to vote on the omnibus bill. I want her on the record as being against this insane obtrussion.

BTW, one of the freeps was discussing Shrub being conned by this twice. Let's see, what did he say? "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...we won't get fooled again." Those idiots. They cant see that he isn't being fooled. He's PART OF THE DAMN CON!

6. Why are you surprised?
It will be a cold day in hell when someone comes to me and says my kids need to go on some medication to keep them docile. I was the class clown throughout school, had good grades, and moderate respect from the teachers. (All I ever needed was a little love.)

I'll quit my fucking job and home school the little shits before I let that happen.

BTW, how did legislation like this get passed without America hearing about it?

26. Maybe that was the plan all along; get ALL of us so mad and
upset about this that everybody home schools their kids to avoid this government intrusion, then the government can just get rid of the educational system that is in place now. If Dems and Repugs pass this, then I'm going to put on my little tin foil hat and decide that what all this is really about is us vs. the government period.

7. Of course it wouldn't have anything to do with the GOP and big pharma
Freepers ARE delusional -- but they come in different varieties. The ones who blame the "liberals" for mental health testing are the too-far-gone ones. However, there may be SOME that are smart enough to realize that big-government statists (and even socialists) come in left-wing authoritarian and right-wing authoritarian varieties, and that just because their "conservative institutions" are being lauded by the GOP, that they're really no different from the "leftist establishment" that they hate so much. They also have no clue that there is a right-wing intellectual elite that thinks the best way to lead the freepers around by their noses is to lie to them.

And, of course, Pigbaugh and Mann Coulter have fed their brains so full of shit, that it's hard to tell when they'll snap out of it -- or if they'll snap out of it.

This is all what the Freepers hath wraught.

is a Republican virtue.
See Herbert Walker. It was all the rage back in the 30's (and I'm not talking Germany).

8. Not surprising. The GOP in it's current form is a paragon of hypocrisy
and freepers are ten times as bad, not to mention often deluded and/or very good at fooling themselves.

Follow the money. Corporate interests (of drug companies in this case) require the forced medication at the US prices. The "invisible" hand of the free market at work!
Wrong, as usual. There is currently no "free market" in health care. The US Government, aided and abetted by legions of rapacious trial lawyers, has seen to that. Artifical demand (largely created by Medicaid and defensive medical practices) coupled with limited supply (caused by sue-happy lawyers and headline-hungry state Attorneys General) have created a Soviet-style market with Swiss-style prices. It sucks - but please do not have the gall to blame it on pharmaceutical companies and doctors - they are the victims of this rotten political scheme. Drug companies try to make money in such an environment by shifting production toward low-cost manufacturing of high-demand drugs - because they cannot otherwise survive in a risk-ridden environment. Doctors, with less cost control in their hands, just give up and leave the practice - as they are currently doing in droves.

Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 05:24 PM by Old and In the Way
A shepard's job is to keep the flock from panicking. He's probably a paid operative of the RNC who's job it is to "educate" these people so they remain clueless and unaware of their pending slaughter.

16. The prices skyrocketed ...
... right after they started advertising.

It used to be that the "war" between pharma companies were fought in carribean junkets for doctors. Now they're being fought on the airways, and thats a MUCH more expensive war.

These guys now spend more on advertising than they do on R&D. The marketers are now in control of pharma, the scientists have been relegated to tools.

11. This threat demonstrates how badly we are loosing in the fight to
get our message heard. The Limbaughs of the world have talked about the liberals being these clones of Stalin for so long that people actually believe them, and will do so no matter what the evidence shows. This is really scary...

14. Once the Freepers
realize that they are being handled/manipulated adeptly, perhaps they would consider inculcating the idea of critical thinking and more healthy skepticism for the mass media? Would they resent the revelation that the Neocons have them in their palms?

They are far too easily caught up in the Matrix right now and they clearly fear the "desert of the real" that we are dwelling in. That is probably for good reasons, if you want to give the benefit of the doubt.

It will probably take destitution, betrayal, or other events, to motivate them to stop investing in fantasies based on obvious propaganda. They are trying to forge the pablum they are fed into sharp and concrete realities as it doing so will make them true. That is destined to break-down, to their detriment and/or ours.

There is a difference between an educated difference of opinion or a strong political perspective and a parrot-like devotion and mindless idol worship.

Meanwhile, they are demonstrably engaged in a fierce war and are called to battle based on lies, half-truths, imagination, and reversal of facts. That is due cause for our serious concern and appropriate response, lest we be overwhelmed and subjugated.

21. The propagandists have done an excellent job of making us the
"problem". As long as they can continue to convince the flock that we are the cause of all social problems, the Republicans can continue to sell out this country's treasury to the highest bidder and destroy our way of life that took 200 years to create.

You'd think that some over there would begin to wonder why Utopia hasn't been implemented yet as their Party has controlled all facets of the government for 4 years and the House/Senate for 8. I think it's hilarious that Republicans have taken a 500BB budget surplus and turned it into a 500BB budget deficit; raised the debt ceiling 4 times; curtailed civil liberties; gotten us quagmired in the ME; want to monitor our bedrooms; and drug our children. I'm convinced that if the RNC and Rush told them the sky was now striped orange, they'd accept that without question.....

Whatta bunch of duped dopes.
