4. What angers me most
Is that he interupted a very nice speech being given by Tom Harkin on the new overtime laws, he said he had something important to say, I was scared to death we had had another attack or something, but no, just this. He interupts an incredibly important debate to whine.

5. not exactly accurate
yes they certainly bitched and moaned and whatever else they could to stiffle his pix but they did not alter the ground rules from simple majority to "super" majority.

18. Tell that to Bill Weld
Bill Weld was nominated to be Ambassador to Mexico by Bill Clinton. Weld had been the Republican governor of Massachusetts. One, count it one, Senator (Jesse Helms) objected to his appointment and refused him a vote by the Foreign Relations Committee. Tell it to Hormel. He was nominated to be Ambassador to Luxemburg. One Senator, this time Imhoff, put a hold on him for over a year. Tell it to Bill Lan Lee, he was nominated to be Associate AG in charge of Civil Rights. He had a hold put on him. Weld never got to be an ambassador while the other two got recess appointments. If 100 isn't a supermajority just what on earth is? BTW the standard for these type of appointees is supposed to be lower than for judges.

7. Mark up another one for the (do nothing) Democrats
For all those folks that say the Democrats are doing absolutely nothing, here is a good example of what can and is being done. So far only a few have been denied but still a few have been denied.

12. WooooHooooo! Thanks to SCHUMER, LEAHY!
The Faux dude ASNER couldn't put "Hispanic" ENOUGH times in this stumbler of a sentence:

"ESTRADA is the Harvard educated Hispanic, Honduran, from Honduras, Hispanic."-----------swear to Zeus!

Anyway, all hail, SCHUMER, LEAHY, the Hispanic Caucus, the Professor, Mary Ann, and the rest!

But the wingnuts are tied up in knots: They picked somebody based on RACE, then accuse the opposition of being racist for rejecting him on IDEOLOGICAL grounds. Hahaha. They are fools to stand in front of Hispanics and do the Orrin HATCH-righteous thing when HISPANICS were against the dude. Hahahahaha. Voting Hispanics ain't that dumb, know SELL-OUTS when they see'em.

Hmmmmmmm, funny: NOTHING on DRUDGE so far. Perhaps SLUDGE is sleeping in.

Faux is flogging the story HARD all morning. Casting it as lessening "the Latino vote" for the Dems. They are SO blind. They keep appealing to RACISM, that people should vote FOR somebody based on RACE as opposed to IDEOLOGY and their own SELF-INTEREST.

Reminds me of Clarence Thomas, except this time has a happy ending!

13. BOOYA!
I'd call that a forced fumble picked up and run into the end zone by a linebacker. THAT's how an opposition party should act when the majority tries to pull some bullshit.

19. BORKED!
I'm waiting for the sh*theads to use that term again. I remember when Shrubbie Sr. didn't like that his nominee was rejected, so he commented, "well if they didn't like him, then they're sure not going to like my next nominee". Then, Daddie Dumbyah went and nominated Clarence Thomas for the Suckpreme Court. He nominated Uncle Clarence, not because he was qualified to be on the Court, but rather because GHWB knew that we would hate Clarence even more. Good job, you stupid Republicans. You've turned Blind Justice into unabashed partisanship.

For those that don't remember the Bork situation, Robert Bork was rejected for inclusion on the Supreme Court, for the EXACT SAME REASON he was nominated. You see, once upon a time we had a dastardly Republican President (no no not those guys, I was talking about Nixon!). When Nixon found himself being investigated by a federal prosecutor, his knee-jerk reaction was to fire the prosecutor, and then voila! The problem would be solved.
But Dick didn't want the blood on his hands, so he told his Attorney General to fire the prosecutor. The AG mumbled something about honesty, integrity, and loyalty oaths - before stating that he wouldn't fire the AG.
The AG then found himself fired. In comes the #2 man at the justice dept. When Dick told him to fire the prosecutor, he too was bogged down with questions of integrity and the like. Nixon fired him too.
THEN in walks the #3 man at the justice department. When Dick told #3 to fire the prosecutor, #3 didn't have the problems with professional integrity, or laws, or any such stuff. Yep, #3 marched right in there and fired the prosecutor, thus ending all of Richard Nixon's legal troubles. (well most of them anyways. Gerry Ford took care of the rest).
By now, I'm sure you have all guessed that Robert Bork was that man #3 who wasn't bothered by ethics. The events that occured on that evening came to be known as "The Saturday Night Massacre". Bush Sr. nominated Bork to the Suckpreme Court BECAUSE of his actions on that fateful evening. The Democrats rejected him for the same reason.
Next time you hear the term, 'Borked', be sure to remind the Republicans of what Bork is MOST famous for.

22. I love it!
Major humiliation for the freepers. This was posted on the FR board today:

"The news of Miguel Estrada's withdrawal from the judicial nomination process, is an embarrassing defeat for all of us."

But I'm not gloating ;)
