An Unprecidented Wave of Joementum is Sweeping The Nation
This morning when I got up, there were Three news items on Yahoo! (I posted em all on LBN) having to do with conservative groups trying to censor art & entertainment.

It bothers me to no end that Lieberman and his allies think that it is ok to go to war on false pretenses, but that it is abominable to show sex or violence on TV or in video games.

It's bad enough that our news media is complicit in bringing us to war, but when Joe and his ilk decide to dictate their tastes in entertainment, what is next to go?? DU? We have to stop them.

1. On behalf of Connecticut, I apologize.

I won't be voting for him in '06. If there isn't a Green or progressive independant candidate, I'll abstain.

11. run Tree!
A candidate against Lieberman from DU would have all the funding he needed. Now THAT would send a message.

15. I appreciate the vote of confidence, but...
I'm about as well qualified to be a United States Senator as I am to perform brain surgery. While it would be great fun to be personally responsible for Lieberman's defeat, hopefully the Greens or whoever can find a candidate with just a wee bit more credibility that me.

The campaign signs would be pleasantly surreal, though: "Eat A Tree For Senate!"

2. Joementum
:argh:

I am still pissed that he beat Lowell Weicker for Senator in 1988. Weicker became governor in 1990 as an independent.

4. I got a friend who loves telling me if we'd have put up Lieberman
We'd have won. I keep explaining him three truths.

1. We could have put up Jesus Christ himself and Karl Rove would have slimed him completely.

2. Nobody on our side would be excited supporting Lieberman.

3. The real point is that you want us to give up liberalism or preogressivism, and Lieberman is just the first step in that direction.

8. Unbelievably my friend tells me that too
He's a moderate conservative (if there is such a thing anymore) and he never misses a chance to tell me that he would have voted for Lieberman if he would have been our candidate. I sometimes wonder though if he really would have - or is he just saying that because when bush puts the nail in our country's coffin and we implode he will have something to blame - his "rationalized" belief that the Democrats did not offer him a viable choice - instead of putting the blame where it should be - on himself for putting party loyalty above what was best for our country. I think that deep, deep down he knows he screwed up in voting for the chimp.

9. I think you are right on that last statement
And I think there are more Moderate Conservatives than are currently apparent. The radical moron wing is running the party, so everybody is aping them, but I think there are more moderate ones out there.

17. great point
Yes, I do think you are right. Many Bush voters are already looking around for excuses and scapegoats. There is no next step for them and they have played their hand. Are they really going to have liberals all killed? How long can they keep calling liberals traitors and terrorists? Now that they have won and have absolute power, who can they blame when things go wrong? Is there anything left of the so-called Republican philosophy when you take away the liberal bashing?

12. That's insane....
LIEberman supports the PNAC agenda just as much as Shrub does... there would be no real choice.

6. He and Santorum are teaming up
on some sort of savings plan for the poor.

A woman I commute into town with was fairly horrified to support any program those two came out with, but she said it actually sounded promising.

I don't care if Santorum comes out for canceling Third World Debt, I want him OUT. And Lieberman too, for that matter.

10. Free market
Reiminfd all your coservative friends that this is the magic of the free market. That this is what the public wants and that the real decision makers who put out this stuff are republians and it is their worship to the dollar that causes it.
