Republican Healthcare: Let Poor Sick Children Die
Republican Governor Bob Riley of Alabama is so cheap, he wants to cut off life-saving Medicaid for a sick 13-year-old girl and let her die.

Hang this around the Republicans' neck.

Contrast this with Kerry's Protect Every Child program.

Republicans believe in letting poor, sick children die.

Democrats believe we can afford to Protect Every Child.

Which party is on the side of "morals" and "values"?

1. In another place
I've been hearing from people who deny they're freepers that because this kid will never grow up to pay anything back in to the system that the state is perfectly justified in pulling her plug and letting her die.

8. Under a universal health care system, should treatments ever be rationed?
This is not related to the specifics of this case, but rather in general. Should every possible medical treatment be used for every sick person without limit?

9. We are the only first world country without national healthcare
why should taking care of something as basic as human survival be 'for profit'? Why shouldn't we allocate money toward healthcare versus antiquated military equipment? One day of money spent in Iraq could provide basic healthcare for everyone in the US.
