I just got a little smug satisfaction...
I work at an insurance brokerage with all right wing idiots. One of the employees still has bumper stickers on his car "flush the two johns" and "if you think health insurance is too expensive, thank john edwards". Both of those stickers make me sick!

Anyway, a vendor just came to our office and asked me if that was my vehicle and said he really like the bumper stickers. With a completely straight face I looked right at him and so "No, that is not my car and I find those stickers offensive".

You should have seen the look on his face! Priceless! He did not know what to say. As he was quickly leaving he mumble "Sorry".

I hope on his way out of the parking lot he saw and realized my car is the one with the bumper stickers:

"Ye Ha! is not a foreign policy"
"If you are not completely appalled, then you haven't been paying attention"
"I don't have to like bush to love my country"

2. You can only hope that the assholes who put the "insurance" stickers
on their cars all get hit by jerks with no insurance and don't get a dime when it's their time to sue (and they do all sue!!!)

3. My brother works in the health insurance industry.
Makes a lot of money at it too. He has a bit of cognitive dissonance because he KNOWS the health insurance business is gouging BIG TIME, there is also a lot of wasteful capital spending by hospitals and that lawsuits account for only a tiny percentage of health costs. He's also well aware of the superiority of single-payer plans in other countries, but if America adopted a single payer plan, his job would most likely ease to exist.

I'm pretty sure he voted for Kerry this time, but I also know he desparately WANTS to vote for a sane republican that will not allow real progress on health care.

Insurance is a helluva racket.

4. Yep, it is. We sell health insurance and believe you me, I know.
The problem with medical malpractice lies with doctors not policing their own. Medical Boards are controlled by other doctors, and instead of making sure doctors are properly disciplined for "mistakes" they protect each other.

Also, the GAO has stated that malpractice claims accounts for less than 1% of health insurance costs. The big cost in health insurance is directly related to prescription drug costs. And to think, bush is supported by big drug companies. Well isn't that special?

As a licensed insurance agent I can tell you insurance reform is definitely needed whether my job is affected or not.

And the right wing idiots I work with? Well, they are just uninformed, religious nuts!

Also, here is a really good article that I like to share:

It's a good read.

5. When someone like that swallows their hubris and mumbles "sorry"
because they never actually faced someone who - gasp! - thinks differently than they do, I'd be tempted to answer their "sorry" with "not as sorry as you're GONNA be."

6. Why is it these goobers have won
And are still waging war on the defeated? Reminds me of the lizard humping another dead lizard at the side of the road.
