NO Amendment. These jerks still can't pass the ERA. Time for a WOMANS PARTY.

I guess the Reeps won't rest until they put a real son-of-a-Nazi in the White House. I say NO!

5. Personally, I don't see a problem
allowing a non-US born individual running for President (having passed some criteria - been a citizen for so many years, etc).

I think some are conflating the issue here with whether Arnie should be president.

9. Agreed, but to use a crude analogy
Would you be prepared to stop, say an avowed atheist running for office if say, you didn't like Newdow? Or a homosexual because you didn't like Shephard Smith (did I say that?) - assuming they were currently prohibited.

It's a pretty xenophobic clause anyway.

11. she wouldn't win
because people would fall for the stupid antics and blatant sexism of Arnold. He would ridicule her and belittle her and everyone would think it was cute.

10. These morons need an amendment for almost everything ...
on their agenda. If they can get an Arnold amendment passed but still not get one passed for the anti-abortion crowd what's that say about their commitment to the religious right?

20. Democracy
That's democracy for you. You can't stifle it when it disagrees with you - you have to support it good or bad. If a Saudi prince ran, you should have faith in the electorate to not elect him. Don't try and pervert the democratic machine to support your agenda. That's what republicans do. Any law that prevents a person from running for president is undemocratic.

22. Totally agree!
Why oh why are we still talking about mostly men for the white house? It's the 21st century, for heaven's sake!

And, I have to admit, just on a gut level, the idea of someone with that Austrian accent in the White House after the facist reign of George III gives me the creeps.

23. I remember after Shrub was selected the first time...
I thought to myself that a woman picked at random out of the phone book would be a better president.

So why don't we? :)

A woman, a minority, and certainly not beholden to the party bosses and the DLC.

Others. Barbara Boxer, Patty Murray.
