Tonight I told a waiter: keep the cash, don't report it, they're fucking..
you over fuck them back.

I've always used charge cards and put the tip on the charge card knowing the income would be fairly reported. Tonight I gave the waiter cash and said.."the rich are fucking the country over...look out for yourself...promise me not to report this, keep it for yourself."

That's the way I feel now, knowing these poor working folks don't have a clue that when they fairly report their income they end up paying a greater % tax than someone like Bill Gates.

Fuck 'Em Back!

1. I don't understand
you gave him the amount of the bill, plus his tip and told him to keep it?

What's he going to do when the management asks him for the money for your dinner bill?

I guess I'm confused.

2. If you use a charge card, the restaurant will report their tips to the IRS
if you give them cash, it's tax-free.

5. I usually add the tip to the charge card
I put only the dinner tab on the charge card and gave him cash for the tip. Asked him not to report it so he could pay the same rates as Bill Gates and the like

6. I think the IRS expects you to report tips at about 8% of your sales
I remember back in the days of delivering pizza, when you filed your taxes at the end of the year, the government wanted to know what your sales were and expected you to report a certian percentage of tips.

7. Actually, the IRS just assumes a certain % of income as tips
Assuming that no one reports cash tips.

We always tip cash just to be sure they get their money right away, though.

8. What percentage do they assume?
The point I'm making is that I want to help lower their taxes to the level of a rich person. So if they assume 10% I'll tip 25% and that is 15% "tax free" as long as they don't report it?

We need to start helping out these folks who at the bottom end one way or another. If we can't elect a government that looks out for them then we need to figure out ways to help them one on one. I remember reading how the Repukes were such cheap shit tippers in NY that all the waiters were complaining.

9. Restaurants are supposed to file reports and press employees to rpt
their tips. I think the "red flag" for the IRS is anything below 8-10%
