1. I think he has until tomorrow to pay $2000. He will get the recount but
he'll need more money to have all the counties counted that he is asking for.

3. 2000.00 up front and up to 80,000 more
depending on how many counties they do and I guess on the amt of manhours needed to do it.

4. But......
Kerry won in NH. Why do we care about a recount there? We need one in Ohio.

5. A recount and discovery of fraud in NH legitamizes the whole process.
And will make it easier politically to start investigations into other states as well.

Any investigation into vote fraud is probably going to lead to Bush losing some of that "political capital".

10. But we gained so much in NH
We gained 28 seats in the House. We defeated the incumbent Republican governor. We gained 2 seats in the Senate. Any recount can come up with some unintended results.

7. You're totally missing the point.
NH is an easy & relatively inexpensive state to recount, it went to Kerry so it's not seen as "sour grapes" and there *are* some strange numbers showing up there. We're looking for a *pattern* of incorrectly counted votes...if we find it there, it's probably widespread & will lead to a widespread investigation.

11. If I'm missing the point it's because
I live here and don't want to lose the great strides we made in this election. We worked VERY hard and got the Dems to come out and the Independents to vote Dem. Counting spoiled ballots and overvotes can make some races turn the other way too.

12. I guess I'm not looking at it in a partisan manner.
Of course we want our candidates to win, but I'd hope they could do it legitimately, without relying on incorrect ballot counts.

13. Of course
It's just that so much has gone wrong with this election I just fear that the Republicans could find a way to use a recount to take back what they lost. I'm just paranoid I guess.
