you can almost see the horns sprouting from her technicolor hair? what? he was elected governor and senator - surely he didn't sound this unhinged at that time... did he?

5. Believe it or not,

he actually used to be a fairly progressive, sensible Southern Dem. As Gov, quite good record on education- along with Clinton (AR) & Hunt (NC) - and race, IIRC.

Supposedly, he first started becoming cranky after being diagnosed with (prostate?) cancer a few years ago. Long-time Georgians could probably fill in the blanks a little better~

Although Maureen Dowd hates EVERYBODY, switching back and forth between Red and Blue, she's mostly a conceited writer. She never had to defend anything in her life, especially anything that tumbled from her addled mouth. Miller is a Republican. He owns guns. He knows which end to point. He'll also cheat and make sure her pistol is loaded with blanks.

And if it's a metaphorical debate, two people slugging it out verbally, the Dragon Lady might pretend to put up a good fight, but she'd crumple like tinfoil. Miller can bury her with half-a-dozen memorized catch phrases, leaving the tinpot terror quivering in her pantyhose. He's a politician and talks to people all the time. She talks to her cat.
