How would ED RENDELL Stack up as an '08 nominee

Okay. I realize that this '08 discussion is WAY premature. But I can't help it. It's fun.

How would Gov. Ed Rendell of Penn. be as a nominee in '08? Upsides: Could appeal equally to the party's urban base and to rural voters and the white working class (I think) - comes across as powerful, in command, a hard-driving New Yorker but not elitist. Potential downsides? Jewish, also going bald (have to go back to Ike to have a truly bald president. Ford was clearly thinning).

But basically, popular, ebullient governor of a big, important swing state. What do you guys think?

1. No candidate talk until..voting system is fixed.

We can put candidate up after candidate up but until we have a true voter verifriable voting sytem there is no point.

This is the issue that needs to be address all other have faded to the background.

Do you live in PA? I do. Our public schools here in PA went almost an entire school year with no budget because good ol' Rendell couldn't get the damn thing signed. Rendell hasn't done anything for PA except for getting a gambling bill signed...i guess that was more important than text books for public schools.
