The insane slaughter goes on in Iraq
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 03:16 AM by glarius
I can only say one thing....Watching the news of the attack on Fallujah, I am once again stricken with a feeling of terrible sadness at the realization that some young American soldiers, just starting out in life, will die needlessly, while carrying out their orders to attack Iraqis....who will also die needlessly, and in great numbers, because of the insane plans of George Bush and his buddies.....It makes me want to cry....
edit...since my avatar isn't displayed, maybe I should say I'm Canadian...I might see it from a different perspective...

2. It's terrible isn't it?
I think so many of the young American soldiers have no idea why they are there...They are just doing what they think is patriotic and following their president....

4. Many go to help their "brothers"
which only makes for a sickening spiral of death, death, death.

Well, apparently, this is what more than half of our fellow amerikans wanted.

6. Thanks for your thoughts
They are very busy killing Iraqi's & committing Real War Crimes

This is a War Crime
"Colonel Michael Shupp ordered his troops to shoot Iraqis attempting to surrender"

Marine commander Major General John Sattler dehumanised Fallujah’s defenders as “mugs, thugs, murderers and intimidators”. Colonel Michael Shupp ordered his troops to shoot Iraqis attempting to surrender, “because of the threat of suicide bombers”. Army Colonel Pete Newell declared: “We’re going to start at one end of the city and we’re not going to stop until we get to the other. If there’s anybody left when that happens, we’re going to turn around and we’re going to go back and finish it.”

Marine Colonel Gary Bradl made the most chilling call for mass murder, couching it as Christian fundamentalist duty. He lectured his troops: “The enemy has got a face. He’s called Satan. He’s in Fallujah and we’re going to destroy him.”

The battle now underway is being directly compared by marine officers with the 1968 battle for Hue city in Vietnam. The comparison may prove to be accurate. In the course of 26 days of combat, over 600 US and allied troops were killed and 3,164 wounded, killing an estimated 5,000 Vietnamese fighters in the city. More than 10,000 houses were destroyed and 40 percent of the city reduced to rubble.

12. CNN is so damned proud of their night time (green) pictures aren't they?
Whenever I see them I am reminded of the Gulf War under Bush 41 where they started their offensive with the same green night time videos....I remember back then, watching and cying...Knowing that the green pictures meant innocent people were dying...It's SO DISGUSTING!
