From the University of Michigan.

Scroll down to see all the conventional maps of the election results transformed into actual cartographic representations. It will make you see the country in a new way.

I wish I could figure out how to post one of these as an image. MUST SEE!

2. Even better....adjusted for actual vote totals by population
instead of win/loss. Does this look like a mandate to you?

3. Yes, these are the maps the dems need to be trotting out whenever
they keep flashing the ridiculous red/blue maps they show now.

Someone send it to Alan Colmes for the next time asswipe Hannity trots out the red/blue map he loves.

4. Ahh! Very interesting! And who says we need to stick to the flat
simple blue-and red, unrepresentative map we've been beaten over the head with? I like the ones that incoporate the populations of the different states!

10. Another map that represents population density topographically
http://www.princeton.edu/~rvdb/JAVA/election2004/

But CNN/corporate media and the RNC want to keep pushing the Red State v. Blue State meme because if people really understand voting stats, they will see that it is a cynical attempt to make geography more important than people. Red v. Blue is the most cynical devisive tool they have to pit us against each other.

You're right that this red v. blue state business is a "cynical devisive tool." I hadn't thought of it that way. I know my blood pressure has gone down a few notches since seeing these maps.

13. At least the red states are appropriate for the 'Pukes.
They really do want a totalitarian, one-party government.

17. Thanks for the Maps - the "red states" Crap Is Disgusting
This morning Don ANUS said he was looking at some map like this and what he chose to emphasize was, "California is RED except for (L.A.)." He chose to omit the winner-take-all aspect that gives a 1% state wholly over.
