email dialog with Republican relative
We're in a Yahoo group. The conversation started with a post about election fraud, part of which read:

I am committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year."

- Walden O'Dell,Contributor and "Frontier" Supporter of George Bush's 2004 Election Campaign & Chief Executive Office of Diebold Inc. the manufacturer of choice for electronic voting machines in the state of Ohio, and second largest nationally.

OHIO FRAUD: Bush gets 4258 votes in precinct with 365 voters
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A28235-2004Nov5.html

It went on but you know the rest, the dialog that continued follows:

Republican relative:
Subject:Voter fraud in Warren County!
Six men wearing black suits took me into the polls and forced me to vote for Bush..then they took off in black in helicopters... my neighbor was abducted by the boggie man in warren county as well, he was wearing an W04 button.

Me:
How many hours did you have to wait in line to cast that vote for Bush?

R.R.
i dont know they made me look into a bright light and i forgot everything from that day....kind of like men in black the movie!

Me:
Not surprising at all, amnesia is a characteristic common to all Bush voters. As a matter of fact in a few years you won't be able to find a soul who remembers voting for Bush.

R.R.
i know, all that voter fraud....especially in warren county, this county usually goes to the Dems....at least about 150 years ago.

Me:
It's been all over the news. In Indian Hill rich white people had to wait in line for hours in the rain while black brown shirted goons questioned their eligibility to vote. Some of them waited as long as 10 hours, refusing to be intimidated and demanding their rights. Others sadly left to go to their jobs or tend to their children. The truly determined persevered, one canceling a coveted appointment at the Lexus dealer for detailing provided complementary after the first 10,000 miles, lamenting that she would now have to pay for the service herself. These are the sacrifices made by Bush supporters! Since people are supposedly dying in Iraq for democracy, the gesture of staying to defend democracy at its last American stronghold, Indian Hill, was the very least those brave, rich, white citizens could do to take a stand in favor of what is the essence of American greatness.

Living in a Republican white community you probably experienced the much same thing, if you could remember your experience, you'd remember the courage it took to wait endlessly as the powers that be did everything humanly possible to prevent you from voting.

At the same time those damn coddled African-Americans walked into there regular polling places, which hadn't been changed at the last minute, and voted with ease. As many as appeared could vote, quickly and efficiently.

And they call this a free and fair election.

That's all for now.
