Paul Wellstone - Liberal Democrat
I was in an antiques store today in Cold Springs, NY. Took a day away from the city and the computer to just enjoy the last of the fall foliage.

Amongst a group of old political buttons in this one store, there was a Nixon button, and some obscure politicians I'd never heard of, there was a button that said - Paul Wellstone - Liberal Democrat, Wellstone 2000.

It had his face in the center and was trimmed in green.

It brought an immediate smile to my face. It's things like that, Elizabeth Edward's post, Barrack Obama, Cynthia McKinney, and then all the work I see being waged on the Black Box issue that is sustaining me.

I bought the Wellston button for 3 bucks to wear on my backpack.

1. Great buy!
I am so discouraged right now, but I thought of PW today and asked myself if he would give up. I have my answer.

4. I thought of him today, too.
He was too good for this shit, but we sure could use him right now. I'm glad we have Obama and McKinney.

2. What a great find!
Paul Wellstone was a liberal and willing to fight these criminals.

I guess it made you smile but sad at the same time.

9. Oh do I wish that were true.....
but instead of 'Massachusetts liberal' we would have heard "Mondale lost", Sore loserman, liberal, liberal, liberalllllll.....and if that didn't work they would fly him somewhere. :(

I miss him.

10. Just imagine if
all the resources we spent trying to just maintain Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa could have been spent in other state that they won in 2000. Wellstone could have done that and he would have appealed to working people in the South and Midwest in a way that an economic moderate like Kerry did not.

7. What a wonderful find!
And do you know what it's about? It's from an early, but short-lived movement to have Wellstone run for president! His first Senate run was in 1990, his second run was 1996, and of course, his third Senate campaign was 2002.

Just think of it, "LIBERAL Democrat"!!! Paul was NOT afraid to call himself a "liberal"!

You got yourself a real treasure for $3.00! Lucky you!

11. I think if were he here he would say he was pround to be accused of
being an immoral liberal who has no values. What a great label they've pinned on us. What would Paul have said. Let's Imagine.
