But do not be confused.
Your hero's woes and troubles show
His lie's coming home to roost.

Your painted mirrors fear the pen.
Reality erodes.
But in dense, righteous ignorance
your minds stay safely closed.

Hear what I say.
Help is on the way.



Deluded, fear suspends you
While bad news closes in.
Outside your guarded consciences,
The truth makes quite a din.

Your showmen and your statesmen
Ask What Would Jesus Do?
Then cut to a commercial when
His answers ring too true.

They've darkened your way.
Help is on the way.



Now slowly stirs some common sense,
The meek are speaking out
They've come for their inheritance
Honor's reclaiming its clout.

Denial's grip is weakening.
The daylight gathers strong.
Reason's voices sing again.
Your dark night's nearly gone.

It'll happen some day.

The enlightened that you demonized
Have woken from their beds.
The scapegoats all have organized.
They could not live with their dread.

And you are dizzy with the thought
That maybe you've been wrong.
