After watching "MTP" and "This Week," I've decided DU is Smarter!
Edited on Sun Aug-31-03 10:48 AM by KoKo01
All that money that these folks get paid to be "political talking heads/analysts" they just don't even know what theyre talking about anymore. They've lost touch with their (supposed) audience and the American People. They are so caught up in their own pomposity and the vision of their "Media Whore Corporate" employers that they don't see farther than their wallets and it's starting to show, big time.

Watching Russerts supposed "grilling of Kerry" which consisted of reading a bunch of carefully culled newpaper reports from articles (which were chosen because they were slanted against Kerry to begin with), Russert just managed to make himself look like an Ass. He was so over the top that anyone watching probably thought he was nothing but a big gas bag. I don't know if Kerry got sympathy because he was forced to reply to such rapid fire proscecutorial questions......or if people didn't know what to think but were just so turned off by the whole show that it ended up confusing viewers on what the hell Kerry thinks about anything. So, by confusing the viewer Russert just shows that he's not providing a show that imparts any information to the uninformed and that he doesn't really understand what to ask Kerry, but has to rely on his little production aids to Google for anti-Kerry articles to clip and pass to him so he can pretend he has any idea of what to ask in the first place.

Then there's Meet the Press with Stephie. Stephie and Joe Klein and George Will are supposed to be politically astute. After all that's why they are on that show........for their "political opinions." They didn't seem to know why the hell Howard Dean is leading in the polls of Dem Candidates. George Will says: "Because he's FUN!" Dean is "Fun?" Well, Dean in fact is fun, but if that's the best he could come up with it says to me George is really off his political game for this upcoming primary. He's out of touch. Doesn't understand the "internet" phenomena of a candidate getting funding from little folks sending in 10 and 20 dollars and how that differs from $2,000 a plate dinners for Bush and others where only the "rich" will be invited.

Will even says that a bad economy never lost a President an election. Excuse me......Poppy is the #1 example of that in recent memory and I won't even talk about how stupid Will is or thinks we are that he would make such a statement.

Then Klein does some blithering about whether Dean's early statements against the war will help or hurt Dean and whether the economy will help or hurt Dean........and oh well.......scratching their heads.....they just don't really know what the deal is with Howard Dean.

I'm telling you they don't seem to get anything correct anymore. Why are they still there.....they are useless.......we saw Bush's incompetence, we didn't vote for him. And when our President got the most votes......they told us he didn't and we should just Move On. We told them that the Iraq War was wrong.......that it was for all the wrong reasons, the intelligence was faulty and Shrubie would make a mess out of it and other people would have to clean it up for him. The Pundits didn't get that one either.

They don't get anything anymore. They are old hacks, out of touch.....don't understand how fast information gets out there even with their "Corporate Whore Press Lock Down." They don't see that we have other sources and we are SMARTER and MORE INFORMED THAN THEY ARE. They should be fired.........they can't do their jobs anymore.

A rant..........

1. Except Fareed Zakaria is as smart as us.
He's on sometimes with This Week. And Fareed supported my position that Clark won't run; says he wants the VP spot.

4. Fareed and Michelle are the only ones on that show who seem to have a clue
I agree! It's the rest that should be fired. Including Stephie......he's gotten very tiresome.

5. Will is so out of touch, he doesn't have fingers anymore.

I said the same thing to my husband about Dean. They just don't get it. All those little donations represent a vote as contrary to all of the rich people votes Bush has raised. They too represent only one vote against perhaps 400 to 500 votes for Dean. How dare George Will say that liberals should be ashamed of sending so much money because we say it shouldn't be about money. We have to be competitive until the law is changed.

Good post Koko. I wish I could recall as much after seeing one of these MW fests to do as concise a report as you did.

6. Amen!
I find myself constantly shaking my head watching these so called informed pundits speak. Over and over they prove they dont know the subject they are speaking on or just outright lie!

Its apalling.

7. Good rant
I was wondering here, earlier today, whether I was missing something by not watching those shows about politics. By your rant, it appears that I am not and that I shouldn't waste my time with them.

8. I know I'm not "missing anything" because I use to watch them..
naivete that I was!

I got sick of them all on my own!

Heck I was even watching faux sux back in 2000 when I first got a tv set. And I started noticing how down on Dems they were before anyone else said anything. And I was outta there!
