hysteria or not?
The media cries wolf every flu season.Yet there are scary strains.Vunerable people.
Is it another sky is falling or not? What if there is something bad IN the vaccine? Why all the hysteria over the flu.

2. This got covered on our national news a few days ago

Ferries are bringing people to Victoria and Vancouver. A flu shot is included in the fare (if desired.)

The trips are also planned so that people have time to shop, grab dinner etc. It's giving us a tourism boost in off season. So Bush is helping the economy, the Canadian economy.

Still, you can keep him down there.

3. Gee.. what a spendid idea

Fill a ship with a few thousand susceptible people, let them all eat together, party together, give em all a shot, and hope that the immunity works retroactively.. All it takes is for a few people who were in the process of getting sick, to infect a whole bunch of the others who may not get the shot before they get the flu bug..

4. Not really a cruise, it's a ferry ride

They may grab a bite on board, but I wouldn't call it a party. They get the shots once they reach Canada. Would you get a shot by a ferry worker?

You get a lot more fresh air on a ferry than you do on a bus or subway. It's also not a long ride.
