A BUZZFLASH READER COMMENTARY ON WHY BUSH WILL LOSE
I have a tenant, Elizabeth in Fort Myers, who is 70 year-old and lives on $580.00 a month. She voted for Bush in 2000 because she thought he was a good Christian.

From A Buzz Flash Reader

July 22, 2003

Dear Medicaid recipient:

Florida, like most other states, has had to make difficult Medicaid decisions in order to operate within available resources and these decisions have had an impact on the adult hearing services program and the adult visual services program. As a result of budget reductions, Medicaid must eliminate the adult hearing services program and must limit visual services program effective July 1, 2003. Therefore, Medicaid cannot reimburse for hearing services and certain visual services for adults on or after July 1, 2003. Vision services are limited to medically necessary visual exams, refractions, prosthetic eyes and related services, and specialized contact lenses. Eye glasses and their repair are no longer covered. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Sincerely,

Bob Sharpe
Deputy Secretary for Medicaid

Elizabeth received the letter on August 27, 2003. Notice that they stopped payment for these services effective July 1, 2003, two months prior!

1. Remember the canard: "They are trying to scare the seniors?"
Bad Al Gore! trying to get this Christian woman to vote for her interest!

4. When Gore was running for president, a position he won,
the repugs were accusing him of using scare tactics with the elderly - saying he would protect SS and Medicare and Medicaid - unlike his opponent.

Of course, the repugs have proved that the elderly had nothing to be frightened about. * was selected and proved the elderly's benefits would not - oops, sorry, they have declined. However, there is nothing to be scared of.

3. Well, gee, we've got a billion dollars a week for that damned war.
Imagine how many hearing aids and visual exams that could buy for a little old lady getting by on less than 600 dollars a month.

I just hope EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE, who's near enough to a microphone during campaign season, starts repeating that Reagan mantra of a couple of decades ago ---

ARE YOU BETTER OFF, NOW, THAN YOU WERE FOUR YEARS AGO?!?!?!?!?

If they don't get all over this one like a cheap suit, they're too damned stupid to take our country back. One would hope they're not.

9. Terrific!
Loved the ad - I could even "hear" it with Reagan's voice and "see" it in my mind's eye with Reagan's little tilty/twisty/noddy thing he did with his head every time he said "There he goes again!"

Make it so! :D
