looks to be turning clockwise. Symbol of the solar cycle, creation, and growth.

The Nazi swastika is the "reversed" swastika, i.e. it looks to be turning counter-clockwise. Hitler's little joke to himself: by switching the direction, it became a symbol of destruction and ruin.

Sadly, the nazis did such a good job of perverting the symbol that even the "propper" swastika is tainted.
