What Can My Good Friends At DU Do With This Rant?
I was going to answer this, but thought it would be fun to see what you all can do first:

...to lull you to sleep and allow the Statists of the Left to dominate the government.

The divide between Left and Right is between Statism and individual freedom and responsibility. Those who would empower the government surrender other's rights until no rights remain that have not been surrendered to the State. Whatever the people might empower the government to do to the most powerless scum among us, they would empower the government to do, and it is the nature of government to seek to expand that power so that it may be exerted over any or all of us. That is the essence of fascism and nazism--of socialism and communism, to inexorably proceed toward totalitarianism of the State--sometimes in fits and starts--sometimes almost imperceptably from one generation to the next, but make no mistake about it, the incremental expansion of State power is what the Left is all about, whether evolutionary or revolutionary.

But America was born different in the spilt patriotic blood of visionary people--unique among the nations--in that We the People established LIMITED government which succeeding generations have incrementally expanded to the vast government bureaucracy that is the U.S. government of today.

Now, in two more weeks, we as a people will decide whether we shall become SOCIALISTS like Europe or remain the bastion of freedom, free enterprise and liberty which our forefather's gave us for our legacy.

Security is an illusion, and promises of security without great sacrifices are lies. The best defense is a great offense. Let freedom ring throughout the land...

Vote for Kerry, and you are voting to re-make the United States all the more into the dark or controlled images of socialist France or Germany--with unemployment hovering up around 10%.

Vote for Bush, and you are voting to keep the lamps of liberty trimmed and burning--to expand the realm of free people around this world--and for full employment curerntly at about 5.5%.

Vote for anyone else for President, and you are voting for a foregone loser, but, hey, that's your right.

1. Both my church and my family encourage me to take self-
responsibility, and that means taking responsibility for the atrocities in Iraq that were committed under United States' inhabitants' names.

That mandates that I work for peace.

These principles mean that I fight to get every inhabitant of the United States medical insurance, decent medical care, acceptable housing, and food. Then people don't die because of the actions of my government.

telling the author that they are full of shit.

You can't reason with these people. It's not even worth the effort.

3. Easy
"I don't choose my political beliefs on the basis of Taft-era right-wingers' models of politics, but on the basis of logic and philosophical integrity.

"In the same way, I don't choose my candidates based on Republican political slogans, but on the individual's character and intelligence.

"Now, take your political presumptions and crawl on back to the local John Birch cell and whine about how some eeevil libbrul persecuted you."

5. You have lost more rights and the government has expanded far more under
Bush then any other president in the history of this country. That isn't some lame attempt to tie current president to statism. It's a fact.

The government right now is having more meetings in secret and arresting more people and holding them in secret then any other time in how country's history with the possible exception of WWII.
That's not some lame attempt to tie the president to fascim, nazism, socialim or communism. These are facts.

If Security is an illusion, then why constantly refer to keeping americans safe (President Bush)? But a scared population is an a controlled population that reports on their neigbors, watches what they say and are willing to be search everywhere they go. Our country has historical data that proves when asked americans are willing to make personal and great sacrifices but don't confuse that with a willingness to give up our freedom.

A vote for Kerry will stop the trend of leaning too far to issues that you complain about because he will act with thought and measure instead of the compulsion, confusion and down right ineptness we suffer now.

Bush has already assured that if we invade another country no one will see it has us spreading liberty but expanding a crusade.

The divide between Left and Right is between Statism and individual freedom and responsibility.

No, it's between corporatism as practiced by the right and resposible and open government as practiced by the left. The Bush administration is the most secretive administration ever in the history of the US including Nixon.

Those who would empower the government surrender other's rights until no rights remain that have not been surrendered to the State.

Three words...THE PATRIOT ACT. The irony is not lost on the Bush administration's desire to hold people indefinitely without trials.

Whatever the people might empower the government to do to the most powerless scum among us, they would empower the government to do, and it is the nature of government to seek to expand that power so that it may be exerted over any or all of us.

That is why the Bush admin's energy policy seeks to weaken the takings clause of the US constitution so that his wealthy energy buddies can take private property.

No fascism is rightly called corporatism..even Mussolini got that one right. Fascism is a one party state...if one has followed th shenanigans of the GOP in Texas, Florida, and California and if one has followed the money...one can easily see which party lays claim to the term fascists....it isn't the side that supports the ACLU.

7. I stopped reading in the opening line
When they started talking about surrendering your rights when you vote Democratic.

The person who wrote this is obviously either a compulsive liar or a complete tool.

9. Here ya go
In a nutshell,

First, Baron's has published an article recently that states that the real unemployment rate is over 9%, not the 5.5% recently stated by the government. This would explain why so many Americans feel the pinch that the government says does not exist.

Second, the right is not out to prop up individual freedom and rights. It is in the process of destroying the middle class. If you want to see what our country would look like without much of a middle class, you need look no further than Mexico. Mexico - the future of America's economy, where a few hold most of the wealth, while much of the population lives in poverty, and the citizens run to other countries to get better wages.

It is the "right" that has passed and pushed The Patriot Act in its most severe form, which allows the government to into Americans' homes when they are not there, without having to show cause to a judge why they are doing that, and search or plant bugs in the citizen's computers, and then not inform the citizen either before or after that they have done so. That is the type of act that a fascist would like. The "right" protecting individual freedom and rights? Hardly. They are ever so gradually clamping down on rights and individual freedoms.

A lessening of health care for millions of Americans is part of Bush's legacy. Is it a right to have health care, or does it belong only to those who can pay for it? That is one of the big differences between the two major parties. Since it is a matter of life and death, I believe that a vote for Bush is a vote that says only the ones who can afford health care have the right to get it.

10. So we should vote for...
...the guy who's presided over an enormous increase in the size of the federal government?

...the guy who engineered and supported the biggest rollback in our domestic freedoms since the Alien and Sedition acts?

...the party who screams about Treason to the State when they're criticized?

...the guy who has distorted the free market by no-bid contracts? By enabling companies to evade the costs of their environmental practices? by raising steel tariffs?

...who's about to throw 'freedom and personal responsibilty' into the crapper by reinstituting a draft?

And anyone who calls this economy 'full employment' is either someone with a trust fund or someone still living with Mom and Dad--and nobody who actually works for a living is going to pay any attention to him or her.

11. Ostrichitis Surrealus
Oh no! NOT like France and Germany!!!

To the author;

The irony of these words coming from an neo-CON (apparent but definite Republican) is beyond normal sense and reason. Since the neo-CON'S took over the government our historical freedoms have been eroded and the lip-service given to individual freedom and responsibility is truly surreal. Anyone and their brother is exhorted to claim and accept their own responsibility except for the pResident and his cadre in the White House!

Your language usage of "powerless scum" evinces a class consciousness rarely seen before in America.
You know, America?
Where every citizen IS equal to any other?
Yea, that one.
Whenever this Better-Than-Thou fallacy has raised its hideous head, in THIS country we very plainly tell thou wherest to goeth.

And pretty damn fast, too.

There is a true disconnect between the neo-CON'S and the body of worthy, hard-working good-hearted American's.
Oh, and by "Hard working" I DON'T mean watching War on the Tee-Vee screen as your fearful leader toils away each day.

When he's not on Vacation, of course.

"it is the nature of government to seek to expand that power so that it may be exerted over any or all of us. The most glaring mistake here, beyond the need for a spell-checker, is for the eighth word from the end which should read Right.
Which they aren't.
And neither are you.

--As it's been YOUR BOY AND HIS POPPY who have 'from one generation to the next' continued on in government
--As it's been YOUR BOY AND YOUR PARTY who have had control of all three branches of government -- WHO are you trying to blame now??! The Democrats? Sorry, not on OUR watch, bub! --it's all been You!
--as it's been YOUR BOY who has grown so Big a Government so as even to cause the Democrats to wish for smaller government!
--as it's been YOUR BOY who as pResident has lost more jobs than any other in nearly a century!
--as it's been YOUR BOY who has been in charge these last four years; your arguments are fallacious and downright ridiculous to the point of sad laughter.

And a Reality Check.

Idiot.

Oh, and BTW, you "historical scholar" you; Fascism, Nazism, Totalitarianism but rarely Socialism can each be used correctly to describe Adolf Hitler's government; in that reference they are synonyms. That the 'Socialist Party' was nothing more than a clever little sound byte cooked up to SOUND good as long as you didn't investigate it real well. (You know -- like "The Clean Air Act"?)
Yet even Hitler hated Communism.
So what scary words have you come up with?
Communism and Socialism?
OOOOHH I'm SCARED!
BOOGA BOOGA!
You'd LIKE us scared so we don't see or think beyond whatever evilness you've hidden behind a catchy phrase!

Nope. Not gonna work bubba.
Call us crazy critical thinkers. Catch us using good-old American common sense, something that's been lacking for a few years now... but, in yer lingo: Dat dawg don't hunt.

Above all, try Reading something, anything other than the pablum served up by your pundits and the many Talking Heads who tell you what you should be thinking; all the while you crying Ditto! like some demented (yet dumber) Mynah bird.
In fact, just try taking up reading anyhow, your baby-steps into the world of critical thinking.
(Sure, you can start with My Pet Goat. Anything to get you started on the Reading Rainbow!)

I'll even look something up for you!
The Encyclopedia Britannica states:

Socialism: ...The tendency of the present socialism is more and more to ally itself with the most advanced democracy.

The. Most. Advanced. Democracy.

Get it?

Take your twisted phraseology and take your little Dictator and his brand of PURE FUCKING FASCISM back to Texas. Let him build his pResidential Library.
Of comic books, I have no doubt.

We never wanted him anyhow. We sure as hell don't NEED him!
He never WON the election either.
And I'll tell you something -- you all try to steal THIS election and people will take to the streets.
Not a threat
It's a promise, you idiot.

You are all, to a man, pathetic prevaricating fascist fucking fools and your time is OVER.

12. a vote for bush means you like being the help and aspire to nothing more
because you will never, EVER be allowed within 5,000 feet of bush and his ilk unless you are serving canapes and champaign at a 'the cost of your house'-a-plate fundraiser.

You aren't included in the ride... you get to wash the table linens used as handkerchiefs after they've left.
