Should Saddam be allowed on the ballot in Iraq?
He was not in violation of UN sanctions (no WMDs)

The US invaded his country illegally, unprovoked

They need to prove that all those bodies being discovered were killed by Iraqis on Saddam's orders.

So what crime is he guilty of? Is he any worse than Musharaff who overthrew a democratically elected government?

1. Have they decided parties?
If he wins in primaries, put him on the ballot. Let the people decide. Isn't that what democracy is all about or am I old school?

2. Apparently there are plenty of Iraqis who would rather have him back.
What have you got to say about that?

4. I don't think Iraqis want him back.
They just hate US and Bush so much that they could actually vote Saddam back into office. LOL.

5. I have a friend in the Turkish army
He says a lot of people in the region want Saddam back because he was good at stability. I say let the people decide. However, fair elections are as much a possiblity there as here. Zilch.

6. It's the Mussolini thing all over again.
He may have been a tyrant, but the trains ran on time. People grow accustomed to stability.

the situation could have been much better, but we have to work with what we have now. that doesn't mean we don't hold the bush administration fully accountable for getting us into this mess. he, and they, don't deserve a second term. and we can't afford one. that is all.

but the idea of giving up one of the very, very few good things to come of this iraqi misadventure is one few of us could seriously entertain.

11. We might not "entertain" the thought but what about the Iraqis.
If that is who they want who are we to decide for them in a democracy?
