Another bullsh** email

I got this from an acquaintance:

"This moment in Simi Valley is a moment of truth," Kerry said . "Not just
for my campaign, but for the future of my party as well. For some of us, this
may be our only chance to confirm the demise of the man who is solely
responsible for turning the American people away from liberal philosophy. As
Democrats, we need to put small differences aside and be certain that this
man is truly gone. Next, we must reclaim our country from the churchgoers,
the middle America folks and the uneducated conservative masses."

So I write him back an explain that all he has to do is highlight a sentence, copy, and paste it into Google to debunk these bullshit rightie emails. It came up on SNOPES as False.

His response:
"Yeah but then it's not fun!!! We all know they are all special interest liars....except Arnold of course"

I sent him http://www.arnoldwatch.org/ to disprove that too.

These rightwingnuts are too much!

1. sounds like your acquaintance knows how to get a rise out of you...

why don't you just make one email response like "oh, for heaven's sake" in the subject line, then resend it whenever s/he does that. It will free up some of your time :)

3. I've gotten downright rude about this stuff

I paste links to the Snopes debunking site, to The Daily Howler, to Media Mattes, to FactCheck.org, and to appropriate historical sites, then I add a paragraph telling them not to send me any more right wing horseshit because I don't appreciate being lied to, and consider people who send me packs of lies to be either fools or liars, themselves. I finish up by telling them that if there's something they want to run by me to see if it's true, I'll oblige, but if they want to keep any sort of a friendship going, they'd better cut out the lying. Liars make poor friends.

That usually stops the torrent of right wing garbage dead, and I haven't had anyone stop speaking to me over it.

He does like to stir it up for no good reason. He is not really a close friend though...for that reason!
