going into the debate, all the t.v. whores said kerry's a great debater, but bush will smite him with his aw-shucks charm just like he did with al gore. not.

it didn't happen that way this time, and boy o boy it caught them off guard! they thought they could play that low expectations shit again, but it's petered out and played out and they can't lower his monkey ass any lower. he's hit bottom.

1. I think the stakes are too high this time for the aww shucks
garbage to pass. In 2000, the meme was "it doesn't matter who's president". We've found out that it matters a great deal, especially when the president is wholly unqualified and desperately incompetent.

2. Saw a quote this AM from Jebbo's son George P
""I think his main objective, apart from not falling on the ground on the stage, which he didn't do tonight..."

That's low expectations...

(Which is the Firesign Theatre album with the line "Why, he's no fun. He fell right over."?)

3. You don't lower expectations for a sitting President
We expect more from a President in fact we Demand more. It is one thing if it is a candidate for office. We can have low expectations or no expectations because we don't know all that much about them, but a sitting President can not afford to have low expectations. We as a Country Demand more. That dog just won't hunt any more. The President must have a working knowlege of his policies and be able to defend them.
