What political ideology is Nat Hentoff?
I've read a couple of his columns lately, and he seems to be all over the place. kind of libertarian-ish, but it's hard to pin down him with an easy label.

1. I believe he has called himself libertarian
I've been reading him for many years and my take is that even though he has trouble acknowledging that women own their own bodies, he is pretty much a lover of liberty.

4. For some weird reason...
Quite a few avowed libertarians are anti-abortion.

2. Hentoff has always been...
... a very strong civil libertarian. Big on civil rights and strongly against government interference in same. Read more of what he's written over the years and you'll get a better sense of where he's coming from.

Hentoff is sort of an ACLU poster boy. :)

Cheers.

3. Yeah, he defies labels.
He is as anti-choice as they come, but a real stickler for civil liberties.

5. He was for the invasion, wasn't he?
I remember a column of his in which he defended his not marching against it.

Anyone know if his opinion has changed?
