Poll question: Have you kicked the cable news habit?
Edited on Thu Sep-23-04 03:28 PM by cheezus
Pissed off at the state of cable news? Turn it off!!!
Just because they're on the teevee doesn't mean that anyone is actually watching or cares.

I personally have been a junkie since 9/11 (feeling compelled to check CNN all the time in case the world came to an end and I missed it). Now I've been clean for over a week and it feels great.

1. I'd given up completely on morning cable "news"
so I started watching the Weather Channel just to get the weather, but they're biased too. It's ridiculous. I don't care that it's a beautiful sunny day where "President" Bush is today. How come it's never a beautiful sunny day where Senator Kerry is today???

Whores. The whole damn lot of them.

2. I used to have a cable news channel on 4-5 hours per day
Now, I NEVER, EVER turn on cable news. Even when someone posts an 'ON NOW! GO SEE!' post about it.

1/2 hour of BBC World News, 1/2 hour of CBS, then an hour of Democracy Now is plenty enough television news each day.

11. if it weren't included at my apartment, I wouldn't have cable
I'd have to bittorrent the daily show every night. Other than that, I don't know what I'd miss.

13. Never really started on cable nuze
When I watch TV for news, it's usually either NOW with Bill Moyers or CSPAN.

For the most part, I rely on the internet to keep me informed of what's going on -- both alternative and mainstream print media.
