Kerry's right -- Bush is in La-La Land. What the hell is he thinking saying this?

"It's hard to help a country go from tyranny to elections to peace when there are a handful of people who are willing to kill in order to stop the process. And that's what you're seeing on the TV screens. You know, these people cannot beat us militarily."

Cannot beat us militarily? They don't have to. Consider this analogy.

Summer's not so far gone that we've forgotten mosquitos, is it? When you're ready for bed and you hear that familiar hum, what do you do? You look around to find the little bastard, then you clap him between your hands. He doesn't have a chance "militarily." But it's a different story when you walk outside in the early evening. Mosquitos don't attack with overwhelming force. They rely on stealth, numbers, and your inabiity to kill them all. If you go where they live, you're gonna get bit, and as hard as you may try, you'll never have any impact on their population. Best to stay where you belong and get good screens for the house to make sure the mosquitos stay where they belong.
