I am in a bad mood right now.
Because there are too many people who are leading this country to its destruction. The fucking media and even some people I know and have liked. They will tell people like me that I am better off now than I was 4 years ago and they refuse to se the problems in this country. If the people on that side have their way, life as we know it will be over. How could they want more war and more crackdowns on civil liberties and to lose money and their jobs? I don't believe these people. I don't understand. I hope that they don't win. Because if they do, they and we all lose.

1. I don't understand either
it's like some sort of mass psychosis going on in America. It's not just the brainwashing - why can't people literally SEE what is going on with their very own eyes???

9. Get a copy of "The True Believer"
by Eric Hoffer.
It's all about how a society ends up in the state we are in.
Also Martin Buber's "I and Thou." Bush is the ULTIMATE Buber
"propogandist."
Also, read some of Kierkegaard's writing on "mass man" or the crowd,
it goes hand in hand with Hoffer's observations.
Add some Teilhard de Chardin about the "noogenesis" and
the "end of the world" as an scientific and irreversible
conclusion and you will be incredibly depressed like me.
I think we are closer than we know, unfortunately in
the darker path Pere Teilhard saw as a possiblity.
People can't "see" because they have lost themselves.
They have disappeared within the mass mind,
abject and void of personal responsibility.
You are right, it is a form of mass neurosis.
One look into the eyes of the frothing crazies in the Bush
supporter crowds is proof that the condition is real.

5. The only explanation that makes sense is fear
People can be easily misled if they're kept in a constant state of fear. Then they're primed to respond to a candidate who presents himself with a consistent, strong, take-no-prisoners image, even if he is a total idiot.

6. 100% Correct
I've heard people say, "Well, Kerry is better on the economy, but what does the economy matter if we're all dead from terrorists? That's why I'm voting for Bush."

7. It can't be understood but don't despair
because on the bright side, some pubs are really turned off by *. One friend who used to be very involved with the pub party said "We need to vote that idiot out of office," and my husband's sister and brother both strong Raygun-ites have both been financially hurt by * policies and will be voting for Kerry. Most astonishingly, five of my mom's friends (in their 80's), who have been pubs all their lives, can't stand * and have asserted they will vote for Kerry. Keep the faith.

10. I WANT so badly to think
that voting is going to oust the corporatists, or
change the course we are on- but then I hear
Bev Harris and others and I wonder, are we as delusional
as the people who support Bush?
Do we REALLY believe that the voting machines
are going to record our votes for Kerry?
What will our recourse be if Bush "wins" and
there is no way to demand a recount?
No paper trail, no recount.
I am beginning to think that even if every man,
woman, child, dog and cat in this country voted
for Kerry, Bush would still "win."
How do you maintain hope for Kerry winning
when ALL the touchscreen voting machine research
gathered by Bev and others clearly shows the
corporatists plan to steal the next four years?
How will we stop them in light of the voting machines?
I really want to know, because frankly, I have no hope
when I examine the facts.
